Title: IMPORTANT: Weapons Policy Change
Post by: Zophar Ptay on Nov 20, 2015, 03:40 PM
Passing along from on high.  I will update as I learn more

====

Some of you may have already had the notice, but LFL have asked all groups, due to the events in Paris not to bring replica GUN weapons with you to any TFA showings.

Please ensure that ALL of your members are aware of this.

Please ensure that you confiscate and store any weapons that are brought along.

For those who protest, you may wish to remind them that attempting to troop with gun weapons will be seen as inappropriate behaviour during a troop and as it is a request from LFL, failure to comply could bring a level 3 offence against them. As leaders you have authority to ask people to dekit if they refuse to comply.

Please ensure that no photographs are taken with guns during the event, advise your members to be sensible about positing pictures on their personal Social Media.

Melee weapons should be fine, so break out the Vibro Axes!

I will ask the RCs to ensure that this is passed along.

UPDATE 21 Nov:

THIS JUST IN:  "Pete [our contact at LFL] has realised he's not told everyone, he's also clarified that this is for Europe, Middle East and Africa, where the issues have taken place recently."

As of right now, this policy does not apply to us.

We let the terrorists win  :(

Anyways, although I am heartbroken by this announcement, I already have a plan B.

We should all get together this weekend and build staffs! or vibro axes!

It would be relatively cheap, and can easily be done in a day. A quick trip to homedepot for PVC,  misc. supplies, and $15 is all you need.

Mass clan weapon build party?
