Heyo.
So ive always liked the design of the Rebel Hoth and endor trooper hard back (dual box pack)
And after discovering the glories of Pintrest i found these two images that desperately made me want a set for my mando.
That and my current Coms pack as awesome as it looks weighs a ton and falls down my back very half hour so im in need of a new back piece anyway with my MK3 kit on its way.
So, here is my WIP on a custom hard pack.

So all current accounts of the hard pack in use in the films have always just been the closed boxes, but whats in them? This Rogue one concept design is the first we see of what could be inside them so thats what im going to aim for. Cos wheres the challenge in just making two boxes right? :laugh:
So to start off i found a nice old Backpack frame off of Ebay to start me off with my dimension and general sizing.
Once i got the idea of how big the main sections would be a very nice friend designed and printed out the main parts for me.
With the sizing light weight.... ish... is my main goal here so i made the bodys out of foamex and reinforced it with some wood on the corners.

Then a test fit to see how they all played out.

So with the boxes being quite deep and i want flashy lights within it all i raised the base up to about half way and start on attaching the main part to the top box.

I decided not to bother hollowing out the bottom box as it would be top much hassle in the long run.

And thats about it for the first post. Updates to follow, let me know what you think. Still a lot of work that needs doing.

After many, many months something is finally happening as i have time again. :laugh:

Decided im going to add a couple more bars at the back and use 20mm Conduit saddels to fix the boxed to the frame. Currently need to find some nice canvas fabric to make the covers out of.
Still a lot of sanding and filling to do on the other Printed parts. Boxes are now primed and adding the finishing touches to make them all pretty.
Refitted my bathroom recently so im going to use the Old flexable shower copex for the tubing going between the boxes.
Also wanting to fit room for my data pad.
