Title: Mandalorian Rifle
Post by: E-Ren89 on Dec 01, 2019, 09:17 PM
So I am starting with the buttstock. I settled on a length, however there seems to be a lack of top view shots from the d23 photos. I am trying to determine the thickness/width of the stock, at least where it meets with the receiver. I know it tapers in certain spots. But the way I am doing this is by going section by section as I model each piece for 3d printing. The I like to Make Stuff YouTube video was helpful, and he went off the black series figure for this part. But I am trying to be a little more accurate (since he did this before the show). It would be nice to figure out which historical rifles/muskets they used to create the prop and go off of that for reference due to the scarce ref photos and information of the actual prop, being a new show and all.
For anyone who has made the 3d files, or has made it in general, how did you determine the width?
