For the flak vest, I was wondering if we could have buttons on the vest, showing or not? And what about pockets on the front?

I'd stay away from buttons if at all possible.  They're not very swarsy.

Do you mean pockets on the flak vest?  Or on your flightsuit under your flak vest?  Under is fine, they won't show anyways - but on your flak vest you won't really have room for pockets.
