ESB (now ROTJ) Fett Build
« on: Dec 21, 2015, 09:58 PM »
Hey everyone, I thought I'd join and say hello. I'm over on TDH doing a ESB progress and figured I should make a thread here as well.
Here is my progress thus far.

I have the entire helmet's silver portion masked off and painted with the grey color. I'm currently working on masking off the grey on the rear panels in preparation for the concrete coat.

Looks fantastic! What are you using for masking? Liquid Latex?

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm using Humbrol Maskol for the masking. A little update as well, masking the gray off to prep for the maroon.

Got the reds down and was finally able to take some out door shots to showcase the color of the green along with the contrast of my new red. You can really see in a couple of the pictures how the angle and lighting changes the green from dark green to a deep crisp green with a blue hue.

Haha... Thanks. I try to keep a low profile here.  I'm a merc FIRST, a vendor second. Hell... I don't even have a sales thread here ;)

Thanks you guys! I fixed up the dent (got rid of the excess silver to match reference pics) and threw on the U on the rangefinder ear, the masking fluid let it bleed out just a bit so I'll be going over it with a fine brush to smooth out the edges.

Thanks buddy.

The flightsuit arrived today, was a good pick me up. This photo has filters applied to it, but nothing really super altering color wise. The fit is spot on, considering I'm rail thin and somewhat average height, I was worried but this fit like a glove. Hopefully it all fills out once I get the armor and what not on.

What color/brand paint did you use for this for this?

Tamiya Acrylics, I've got a color list here for ya. The colors change in the lighting, and my indoor lighting (especially during the winter) is TERRIBLE. Above is an outdoor picture in natural light.

Base Grey: X-2 (White) +XF-18 (Medium Blue)
Silver: I went with Testors Diamond Dust
Grey (Humbrol 79): X-2 + XF63 (German Grey)
Concrete back panels: Model Master Concrete Acryl
RLM 73 Back Panel: This one was a doozy, it ended up looking alright, but I think with more tweaking I could get it better XF24 (Dark Grey)+XF-27(Black Green)+XF70 (Dark Green 2)
Dome and Lower Cheek greens: A little XF-18+ mostly XF71(Cockpit Green) and just a few touches of XF-25(Light Sea Grey)
Upper Cheeks: XF-1 (Flat Black)
Mandible Maroon: X-7 (Red)+XF-9 (Hull Red)
Mandible Main Red: TS-33 (Spray Can, Dull Red)
Killstripes Yellow: XF-3 (Flat yellow)
Killstripes Orange: X-6 (Orange) + XF-3
Rangefinder Ear Sand Color: XF-59 (Desert Yellow) + XF-3
Left Ear Red: X-7
Left Ear Beige: XF-20 (Medium Grey)
Left Ear Green: XF-5 (Flat Green) + XF-51 (Khaki Drab) + XF-70
Black U on Rangefinder Ear: X-1 (Black)
White Strip on Rangefinder Ear: X-2
White U on Left Ear: X-2

Edit: Unless you mean specifically for the adhesive replication? That was a blend of the green mix that I concocted for the dome and cheeks but I added a bit of white and VERY little gunmetal. The gunmetal was added for the sheen effect that the adhesive left on the helmet. It's XF-10.

Looking REALLY good! Don't forget to get those pant legs super dirty! Oh, also I think you should rip up the bottom of your cape more so it looks more natural. All the holes looks a bit uniform at the moment.

Hey Bro, quick question.  Who made your bucket?  Or did you make it yourself?
