my first weapon *update*
« on: Oct 09, 2018, 09:10 AM »
hey guys. this is my first weapon making for my mando suit, the idea is of imperial mandalorian sniper or as closely to it.

this picture is of its current state and i have seen the video about how to change the nerf. this gun is nerf striker and what i have been doing is cutting from its handle at the bottum and also what used to be part to hide the pump at the back of the gun near the stock attachment. scraping and polishing away logo, safety and instructions. taking away the spring mechanism and just about everything else from the inside except the spring for the trigger since i have plans for it. moved the gray parts ( part of the reload system of the gun) to the front but attached it for now but not perminatly ( maybe gonna change the location or add more to it).

next plan is to continue to make the base to no longer have the  silhouette of a nerf gun. add some more pieces. add led light for firing mechanism. add some outer wire that will have purpose but thinking of an idea for what exactly.fill inside of the gun to make it a bit heavier. finish the stock that will as shown connect to the grip and paint it.  forgot the mention that i will probably add some epoxy or kytex to it.

please let me know what you think :)

NEW UPDATE
i changed the stock a bit and thinking of kytex and some reinforced struction from the base to the stock since its still a bit fragile looking.
from the points that i have gotten from others i have cleared the triangles and moved the gray part from front part and put it at between base and barrel. added some .... dont know what its called but electrician use it for wireing purpose on top of the gun since there was a space between stock and the base, also serves to hide rails. started aswell filling the screw holes but planning to put saw of ball shape cap from bolts as greeblie.
atm im in search for part that has the same look or closely to it to put on the pipe from the barrel base.
Got 2 scopes from nerf mod website called AK blasters to see who fits better.

Sand down those triangles along the butt, barrel, and clip, those are the big giveaways that that is a Nerf.  Maybe use some sintra to change up the profile of the clip and some other parts.

thanks for pointing that out. ummm, about materials like sintra. there is a shipment on the way for it . but atm i can only sand down, cut/saw. and add greeblies from old plastic models and junk that i have collected.

Off to a pretty good start here. I would recommend removing the gray from the end of the barrel and if you are dead set on using it, placing it underneath the barrel up next to the body. That will give the base body a little bit of a more similar look to the reference photo that you shared. Since you only have a saw at your disposal at the moment I would recommend cutting off an angled portion from the from modular barrel portion and sand down its railing system and like Jag mentioned, sand down the triangular bits on it as well.

You are on to a sweet build here cut up the work. If you want to snag some ideas of how to mod a nerf, check out the thread listed under my post titled SEE-5 blaster pistol and other misc. blasters. Pretty much most of my modded builds are in that thread if you want some inspiration.
