How many approved MP's do we have now?
« on: Oct 03, 2017, 08:32 AM »
I was the first ever MP to be approved last year, so I was wondering how many MP's do we actually have now that are approved?
Let's see pics of all you approved MP's.
I'll start with mine.

Thanks!  I was at the NE meetup this past June and was hoping to see you in your MP, but I think you opted for your TIE pilot that day.

I'm down for getting some more MPs.  I'm sure we can drop some PMs on some of the old builds here and see where people are at.

Yeah, I wore my TIE pilot that day, after seeing all the Mando's at the June meetup I regretted not bringing the MP. That would have been a good one to wear it to. If we do that again I'll make sure I bring it.

Im still working on mine, I haven't had much progress as I've been focusing on building for my friend so that he can get approved or at least have a wearable kit by TLJ

State of my protector kit

Although my OM kit is pretty similar enough to a protector

Is the tan flight suit approvable?  My wife and I were thinking about converting our kits to protectors and applying for brigades, but we dont think things would look good with the listed approvable colors.    We know there are some changes to our current kit we would have to make, but cant seem to find a flight suit color that would work, that is assuming the base color scheme is even approvable.

I know for instance I have to ditch the shin and thigh plates, change the colors on the belts and pouches (not a problem, they were from another costume anyways.)  new gloves, perhaps modify the paint scheme on the buckets? (im working on a new one anyways) and a few more things we would be willing to do, just a quick uploaded photo from the recent talon clan campout.

we may be more interested in pursuing this if we can keep the base tan, otherwise, anyone got any approvable suggestions for soft part colors lol?

found one from my approval pics just for general ideas.

Tan flightsuits are approvable for Protectors.  Also, be sure to check in and brush up on the MP BRLs, then compare them to your kit before you go altering and removing pieces. Armor req's are Light or Medium configuration. Medium armor includes the shin and thighs, so those can stay if you wish them to stay. Light armor configuration is (a minimum) Boba's armor ( minus the kidney plate).  Medium Armor would be (at a minimum) Jango's armor.  So any armor pieces "Jango or less" would easily qualify. Adding any more armor pieces than Jango would be subject to debate by the Brigade team on what would be bordering heavy armor, which is not allowed for MPs.

Requirements
Aside from meeting the minimum CRLs, a Protector must adhere to the following requirements:

Colors
• The primary color of the armor has to be medium green, similar to Boba's.
• A main secondary color must be present. Secondary colors may only be red, yellow, or orange.
• A tertiary color may also be chosen and may be white, light blue, purple, grey. Tertiary colors must be used sparingly.

Armor
• Helmet:
• Standard Fett-style helmet required, with RF and standard ear-caps.
• The visor frame/mandibles must be the secondary color
• cheeks may either match the primary color or be white.
• back may be primary or secondary color
• Standard Armor:
• Must be of light  or medium configuration
• Must be traditional Boba or Jango template
• Knees must be of traditional Boba/Jango design, although the knee darts do not have to be identical to Boba' or Jango's.
• Gauntlets: Gauntlets must be of Fett-style or streamlined weapons-platform design based on those depicted in the comic books and artwork. May be painted the primary, secondary, or tertiary colors and may be mismatched (each a different color).
• Cod piece and back plate are required, cannot be substituted by loin cloth or full cape.
• Armor Variant:
• Chest plate may be a modified design to closely resemble the plate style used in the Marvel comics.
• Ab plate may be replaced with quilted soft ab sewn into flak vest, as depicted in the Marvel comics.  Should be colored similarly to primary plates paint. Should be constructed of the same material as flak vest.

**Addendum: The 'Fett-style' plate requirement is not meant to exclude female members from becoming Protectors. Female-style chest plates that conform to the general appearance/configuration of Fett-style or Marvel-style plates are acceptable. The diamond and abdominal plates must be as close to Fett-style or Marvel-style as possible.

'Soft' Parts
• Boba-style half-cape is optional. All other cape-styles are restricted.
• Solid color cape (ROTJ style): green, brown, tan, grey, dirty white
• Cape may include a stripe of (ESB style): red, orange, yellow
• Closed-back kama may be worn. Must be same material and weathering as cape
• Full flightsuit with Boba-style 'double-sleeve' required. May be two-piece, provided that it matches the general appearance of a full flightsuit. Colors: green, olive drab, tan, light or medium grey. Thigh and shin pouches strongly recommended, but not absolutely required.
• Vest: Must be similar in design to Boba's or Jango's. Colors: green, olive grab, light or medium gray or platinum grey/white.
• Gloves: Must be similar in design to Boba's, but do not have to be exact replicas. Padding on back can vary. Colors: any within reason, must match or complement other soft parts of the costume.
• Patches such as the US 7th Infantry Division or FORSCOM shown on Boba's Pre-production costume may be worn on gloves.
• Similar patches may also be worn, at the discretion of the Brigadier.
• Patches with simple generic geometric designs may also be worn.
• Belt: Brown Boba/Jango-inspired leather or leather-like belt with a minimum of four (4) brown leather or faux-leather pouches, two (2) to either side of the buckle or four (4) across the front. May include two (2) oversized pouches hanging below the belt, suspended above the hips (one on each side).  All canon/legends pouches and belts acceptable.
• Soft Pouches: Must have at least 2 of the following: waist pouches (hanging from belt), thigh pouches, shin tool pockets.
• Girth belt: Must be included, either Fett-style rope girth or of waist-wrap design. Can be any color within reason (yellow like Tobi Daala's, brown, black, etcetera. No fuchsia or fluorescent colors) Can be red to denote Journeyman Protector.
• Holsters: Canon-style holsters acceptable: Jango, Solo, ESB Boba
• Boba-thong and external knee straps are required. Must be of elastic material, and must be dyed or painted to match the flight suit as closely as possible.
• Spats: Must be similar to Boba's, should be colored to match vest or flight suit.
• Boots: Laceless boots similar in design to Boba's. Examples of acceptable styles include ankle-high Chelsea boots and Stormtrooper boots. Must be colored to complement or match the other soft parts. Toe spikes are required: must be similar in design to Boba's, but do not have to be exact replicas.
• Boot-Wraps: Weathered fabric strips may be used as boot wraps.

Accessories
• Jetpack: Required, may be either of canon design (Boba, Jango or TCW hybrid style) or modified Marvel Comics version (side mounted rocket).  May be Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary colors.
• Boba-style chest lights on the left chest plate are strongly encouraged but not required
• Weapon: Must be era-appropriate canon weapon. With the WEG RPG guides, comics and video games, there are literally hundreds of 'canon' weapons. Weapons can be customized to an extent (such as a modded E-11) but it must still be recognizable as a canon SW weapon from that era, defined as early-Imperial era onward.
• Shin tools: If shin pouches are added to flight suit, shin tools similar to those worn by Boba must be in those pouches.
• Knife and sheath may be strapped to leg using boot wraps.
• Trophies: No less than 2, no more than 4.  Trophies may include: Wookiee scalps, damaged lightsabers, Death Watch Chest Diamonds.  Additional trophies may be used at discretion of the Brigadier.

Sigils/symbols
• Brigade sigil must be worn on the left shoulder plate. It may be worn on both shoulder plates.
• Clan sigil or personal character family crest may be worn on the right chest plate. If worn as such, must be similar size and placement to Jaster Mereel's insignia on Boba.
• Muted design may be displayed on the chest plates.  Must be of simple design and not vibrant. Must be white, black, silver, or grey.
• Jaing Eyes are acceptable on helmet. Secondary or Tertiary color
• Kill Stripes are acceptable and encouraged on helmet. Secondary or Tertiary color

Weathering
• All plates should be weathered liberally with scratches, paint flaking, and dings.
• Base coat should be metallic silver, not bronze, gold, or copper.
• A layer of yellow, orange, grey, or darker green may be used beneath the primary color
• A layer of grey or a primary or secondary color may be used beneath the secondary color
• Secondary color (Red, Yellow, Orange) must be of "burnt" or heavily weathered appearance.  No bright, fresh paint.
• All soft parts should be significantly weathered and worn with browns, blacks, and tans.  Capes and kamas should be torn and damaged.

cool, thanks!  Tan wasnt listed on the crl list I originally found and was excited when I saw someone use it.

http://mandalorianmercs.org/get-involved/brigades/525-2/#8-Mandalorian-Protector

Still not 100% sure if we are going to try to adapt these kits, or if we will just make new ones.

Thank you for the info though, guess I was looking at the wrong list!
