First time building armor

I have my armor all cut out and have sanded all sharp points off. Is it best to paint before shaping or after shaping?

For me after shaping.  Otherwise the heat gun is really going to mess your paint up.

After shaping.  You can make MINOR tweaks after paint, but best to get it shaped as close to perfect as you can (finish your softparts before you finalize shaping) before you paint.  Past a certain bend point, paint cracks.  Past a certain heatgun exposure -- paint bubbles.
