Ok, took me some time to get back to the armor. I was completely unhappy with the paint. Even though the chipping was made with masking fluid it looked like silver splotches on a grey surface. I tried another technique and different colors, pretty happy with that. Still need a final black/brown wash. Thoughts?

Looking pretty good!  It seems like you have most everything covered in your To-do list.

Do your boots have laces? I tried to zoom in, but my work laptop doesn't have the best resolution so I could not tell.

The only other thing that I noticed is that the right (your right) edge of the collar plate seems to be floating. That may just be due to the bandolier. However, your armor will have to fit properly with the bandolier on. So it may be a matter of some increased shaping and/or increased attachment under that side.

Boots don't have laces, those lines are a detail on the boots.


About the collar, I guess that it's becouse of the raised arm for the photo, but as you sai I can easily reshape or add attachment.

The loose ends of your armor vest straps: can you tuck those in? They look a little sloppy.

If you could lower your shin, I think it would look better. Also may get flagged by the app team. My first kit had shins and they told me that they were too high; which is odd, because I didn't think they were sitting high at all. And your shin definitely seems high to me.

And what's that in your hand? If it isn't a part of the kit, you should leave it out for your app pics.

I'm just being nit-picky, because I think you should be easily approved! Just needs a couple things to tidy up. But otherwise you look awesome! Your kit looks wicked cool! Way to go, dude! Nearly there now!!!!

I can easily move the shin lower and will put a snap to fix the loose vest straps.

The thing in my hand is my phone  I used it to control the camera, since I was home alone  will find another solution for app pics

Your kit looks very good, but I would add more grim and dirt to the soft parts, belt and bandolier to match with your armor.

I have to agree with darthnova; especially on the lighter color gray of your kama. Some grime will help make it look a bit lived in.

I also just noticed the rivets in your gauntlets. You'll have to paint those to match the color of your gauntlets.

Otherwise you're in really good shape!

This is my kama's actual state (as it is in the pictures). Does it need to be heavier in your opinion?
My mando is supposed to work in a mountain environment, with little mud and less machine dirt if possible. I took as inspiration the Dolomites (near where I live), which are also known as the "pale mountains".

What would you suggest?

I just realized I never responded to you about the weathering! But you nailed it! Seeing the kama in different lighting, it had a good amount of weathering already, and seeing it now, it looks even better!
