Found this pic I forgot to upload when I did the start of left ear, here's early stages of top of right ear. Need to trim the right side down and remove the black areas to get shape, then mark out areas to shape next. Getting the angles right and aluminium removed is time consuming. Then a clean up to be all shiny...🤔 Had thought of a pitted look...as in sandblasted.

Also here is something I found in the mailbox

Bit of stock to play with, smaller rods are stainless I've collected over the years....bit of play time in the future ..just wonder what will come out of it all

Stripped down and cleaned out theairbrush tonight...getting geared up for

Haven to got a good silver. I like British paints shiny silver, can't get hands on any at moment so....these two plate stepped forward for experimenting with other paints. Just from a spray can....not using airbrush....too lazy 

Also spray rf top, more lazy painting

Here's how it's currently looking, there's a little bit of a reaction, I'll fix that later, I'll let paint dry for a few days before next stage

Couldn't sleep last night so decided to do abit more shaping of the right ear cap
It's a little bit big at moment, but filing the edges will remove that and smooth the arc as well
Below is black resin cap on top of aluminium cap...shiny area needs to be filed down

Still need to cut the angled areas

Sort of an update....hopefully more after this weekend...few different ideas thrown in 🤔

Not real happy with these yet ....just got more latex though


Also have something else in mind I'll hopefully have time to experiment with.....but that's a secrecy for now  stay tuned ....and may we see fett looking good again

Looking at the low right ear being painted silver, this is only the resin piece, I do like the look of it being silver. So if the anodising attempts don't work...I'm happy. Maybe different textured surfaces 🤔 Maybe lightly sandblasted. I did get some aluminium wire to use in the next anodising experiment ....my alligator clips dissolved 
Getting a little more done

Need to do a lot of house work tomorrow  ....maybe after that I'll get abit more accomplished. Have another idea to try on this bit too....just need to try experimenting with electronics more

Latest bit on lower ear, need to file smooth, eliminate machine marks

Now have to get back to doing the dishes 😒
Found this while cleaning out anodising set up...bit of progress...if accidental. Not sure about the colour though, I used a frost grey and black, that has a hint of brass to it 🤔

Thanks mate, from memory I left it in container  , wasn't trying to anodise it. Have to try replicate it

Maybe a little bit of progress with anodising

I used it dye frost grey, might next time use black. Used a scrap piece that I'd stuffed up. At bottom I used a file to scratch away the coat to show aluminium underneath. I'm making some progress. I've also found if I leave the piece in the drain cleaner solution for a while, little bits of the surface gets eaten away....natural weathering and will blend in with my helmet better. Having a super clean and shiny ear(s) would look out of place

One may do something, others just filler  ...the tape is too wide, it's just holding things together...it'll be painted and different colour tape too

🤔 Getting another idea for sonic beam weapon now...needs paint job finished as well

Scored a steel shaft from last scrap bin 😊 Exact size I needed...now to sort out length

Got a lot of work to do on this yet, here's the idea....now in video   
Plan on replacing a few other bits....internals need work too
Masking tape still on as planning on repainting some bits
