Ok, my tacticool attitude  would suggest me to prefer the A280, but i decided that i needed the blaster sooner for my short film. Then my choice was for the short DL44 carabine. Maybe DL44SC (Short carabine)?. Anyway I got the base toy gun faster and cheaper  (12€). I also think it will require less work. This is my starting point.

I decided to take it as a challenge and build the carabine with no budget (except for the main body obviously). This is a test to have a rough idea of the final blaster. Need of course to add scope and greeblies. Thoughts?

Not really, I think it looks cool & unique. With scope and stock it will make a great carabine.

It looks great so far. As for ideas, maybe try cutting off the cocking handle and that hump at the top rear of the broom handle grip and build up the square piece from your above concept design out of 2 part putty and run a length of pvc or wood dowel thru it and into the blaster body. Fill the void inside with resin/epoxy to give the stock attachment more purchase. If you don’t want to go inside, you could build up the putty around the cocking mechanism but that will only give you about 1/2” of stock to hold onto the blaster body, which probably won’t last very long before a drop or bump breaks it off.

The RL base gun has a carbine version (Mouser C-96 Carbine) but the stock attached near the butt end of the broom handle grips.
Here’s a pic if you’re unfamiliar and don’t feel like googling   


For this method I would probably try cutting out a section of the handle “tang” (I’m using knife terminology here cus I’m unsure if there’s an actual term for it on a firearm) between the grips then just shape the stock with a bit to fit in between the grips and shape that to fit the lines of the broom handle grip.

Not sure if any of that is helpful to you, but it’s the best suggestions I’ve got. Plus I wanted to get a comment in here to make keeping up with the progress a bit easier.

After a huge overthinking phase, i decided to leave the c96 path and look for something different. I came out with this. Lads, I present you the DL44 CSSC (counter sniper short carabine). Still working on the name. Any suggestion is welcome.

The DL44 carabine had a little stop. Need to add a stabby. And I fell in love with the imperial field knife.


It's form the Solo art book and was supposed to be the field knife issued to the mudtroopers. I had to have one.
