So I just looked through your WIP thread, because I was looking for what you did for a flight suit...more specifically the thigh pouches...and I fell in love with your jetpack build. I think I might be stealing it, but with my own take on things.

Thanks for the input guys and do it!!! Also for the thigh pouches I just took the standard Boba pounch belt template and then sewed those to my thighs

Update!!! Decided to add some more references to the comics by up dating the paint job on my rocket pack. Here are the results but still needs a good black wash/grime

Absolutely love it! I don't know of anyone else in the Mercs that has the Marvel comics Protector jetpack, so this is not only a great prop but also incredibly unique!

Glad you think so man! I had fun building it for you for sure. I plan on building a fairly accurate Tobbi Dala pack for  one of my good friends once he starts his Dala kit build. I have most of his templates laid out in on sintra in my basement but I ain't building the whole thing for him lol

You wouldn't happen to have those templates available would you? Or even a picture of how it goes together? I've been trying to dissect what components you used and how you pieced it all together. Any WIP pictures would be enlightening!

I do not as they are all hand made ha however! I do have some progress photos over on my clan thread. I think this link should pull up the exact page but if not the jetpack progress photos start on page 6.

The photos on the forum are pretty blurry, but I was able to view them on your photobucket page itself. Fantastic build!  I was trying to figure out what you used as a base to get those ridges; the paint tray is ingenious!

Update!!! I relieved that I made some kit upgrades that I never actually posted on here. First off, I had put the Fett bird skull on my holster awhile back but you could never really tell it was there so I decided to paint part of it to make it pop.



I also made a shin bandoleer similar to Dins and 1312 Fett to give my left leg something to do at troops lol




And lastly, added a little do'dad to the rocket topper to mimic Kasts/Fetts topper from the pre pro days

My apologies for the delayed response here but thanks guys! At some point I am going to need to try and figure out how to fix my bandoleer. Currently I feel like I may have made it slightly too short as most of the weight from my belt now gets carried through the bandoleer instead of just hanging around my waist so after trooping for a while with it on, my right shoulder starts to ache quite a bit. I might just end up attaching it to my macrobinoculars since I made them but haven't trooped with them but obviously haven't been able to troop recently to test it out.

One of my friends has a drone with a camera on it that he wants to test out - so that may be a good test run opportunity.

Could you extend the straps or make additional small straps to help get hips carrying the weight?

minor upgrade time!!! I added some of the prototype Boba Fett symbols to the sides of my knee armor. Plan is to maybe add some more to other areas of my kit in the future.

I also have a gauntlet upgrade planned for my right one. Its felt a little bland for awhile now.

It's those little extra details that really make things look awesome. And what's odd is that you almost don't notice them but you'd notice something's missing of they were removed.

Thanks dude! and exactly! I am all about those subtle references and details. My wife keeps on asking if I will ever stop messing with it and I keep telling her "maybe one of these days but today is not that day" lol

More updates!!! I've always thought my right gauntlet was a little bare compared to my left gauntlet and wasn't super similar to Fenn's gauntlet as seen in the comics. So I decided to build a whipcord housing to spruce up the look. Eventually once this is attached it will be painted blue to match the gauntlet blasters.
