Heya vode,

A minor setbaxk happened in that my measurements were a bit of and 150mm is way to wide for the main blade body.

I have however created a proof of concept blade while I wait for some new plexi to come in!

Let me know what you think of this, my vibro beskad!

Well this blade is a only 100mm and its already rather wide. The other one is way to big. Even for a 6'5 behemoth like me.

When it comes to weapons, bigger IS better.  I have a hard time with some SW weapons feeling like the Noisy Cricket to me as well. I'm 6'5",  too.

I'm curious how it will look when finished.

Well. as it turns out, even with a slightly narrower blade, Straka has nothing to worry about. It is STILL a BEHEMOTH of a blade. I am still working hard at getting this done but some real progress HAS been made so far. So I proudly present, The cathar honour Sword (WIP):

Nice build, but unfortunately I don't think it quite fits the Star Wars aesthetic and still has much of a fantasy design to it. I would recommend looking at some TOR sword references for styling cues. If you wind up going that route, can't wait to see what you do with it!

It is actually the Cathar honour sword from TOR ^^'

Here is a picture of the progress made on it so far. It's not quite done yet, still need to do the grip and pommel pieces and a proper wrapp on the handle, but it's getting closer!

And here is the original sword from TOR:

I sadly had to abandon the open section in the centre of the blade due to safety concerns with structural integrity but I will still be adding the energy conduit along the centre using EL wire.

Outside of working on the sword though, I went to dutch comic con this weekend and while the experience was great and I had a lovely time meeting my fellow local Mercs, I also found that in comparison to many of the awesome buckets I saw there my helmet is well... really really small. I can't really walk around with it on without fogging up my visor something fierce and getting out of breath in a few minutes. So I ordered a new bucket from Demon Dog Studios today. I'll be going with their awesome nighthawk bucket and modding the visor area for a slight personal touch to it. I'll probably keep my current bucket around as a display piece but I'm thinking I might put some gas mask style re-breathers on the cheeks and seeing if some better airflow makes it any more comfortable to wear. For now though, heres a concept of the new bucket. I also ordered the rangefinder and antenna kits for the Nighthawk so I can see what I actually wanna put on there, but enough words, here's a picture of what I'm planning:
