Chicago screws, a source
« on: Feb 12, 2019, 08:12 AM »
Is there an suggested place for chicago screws? I searched the forum and found a post from 2009. As you can imagine, not all the site's still linked.
What's some currently viable and cheap places for these?
Thanks y'all!

Amazon is where I got my last couple of batches. These were the last batch I got. They seem to work well. Just as a word of caution, make sure your plate alignment is spot-on, as once you make the holes in your vest, there's no going back.

Fenris- Thanks. Gonna use them on armor for boots and the straps.  Not on the chest plates,  I've seen the issues from that.

Hobby Lobby sells them, if you are impatient.  At the one by our house, the leather stuff is in the jewelry making section on the same aisle as the paracord.

Amazon is definitely cheaper, and has a bigger selection.

Amazon is your go to for those. Unless you’re impatient and want to waste money then you can find them at Tandy leather. Or the hardware store like Lowe’s as screw posts.

Amazon or ebay is a great resource for them. I’ve also found small 1/4” nuts and bolts to be just as effective and quite abut cheaper, if that’s something you want to consider.  :like:

Nearly any hardware store or home improvement store will have Chicago screws. Typically they are called binding posts or screw posts.
