My Armour Consept
« on: Mar 25, 2018, 10:35 AM »
I've been trying to decide how I want my armour and I'm still undecided between 2 ideas.

Idea a):Idea b):

The main colours will be dark grey/gunmetal and orange but I'm still undecided on if I want the details to be blue or white/light grey the vest is going to be black.
If the details are going to blue then the flightsuit is also going to be blue. If the details are going to be white/light grey then the flightsuit is going to be grey.

I'm probably goint to have shnees instead of separate shins and knees armour.
I'm thinking of having a segmented back instead of it being just one piece.

Update: (22/jul/2019)

The old designs no longer appeal to me so I came up with new ones inpired a bit by idea B.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions and/or advise?

Go with B.

The black and orange really stand out against the gray flight suit and gives it a truer utility feel.

I'm a fan of option 2, as well.   ;D

Thank you for the replies!

After some more thinking I agree with you both. The second one looks best.

I'm going to try and make my armour out of sintra. Any advise for someone who has never worked with sintra before?

Option B for sure. Very nice color choices.

EDIT: Sintra is very easy to work with. I've used a jigsaw and utility knife to cut it out. Sometimes I use a dremel.

Alright, lets BUMP this!  :P ;) ;D

Rax I like both ideas  ;) Yeah, sintra is very easy and simple to work with, just a heat gun or the old fashion way: hot water  :P ;)

I did a segmented backplate and was a lot easier to shape and fit than a standard one, still you have the last call and i bet you will have a badass sweet looking kit!  ;)

Anything you might need, feel free to shoot, we are all here to help you!  ;)

Regards,

AJ

Thank you for all of the replys vode!

The old designs no longer appeal to me so I came up with new ones inpired a bit by idea B.

There's still some things that I'm undesided like which helmet design I like best oe what color combo I want the back plates and kama to be but I like this general design much better than the previous ones.

I'll be going back home in august to visit family so I won't be able to work on my armor but when I get back in september I plan on finally starting to work on it.

I've updated to first post with the new designs

I love this new design, vod! (Especially with that 2nd helmet, the gold visor and white lower cheeks - it really balances the colors nicely.) Red, gold, and white is such a classy color combo. If you'd like to bring the white further down your armor, you may consider adding some white outline stripes/detailing to the red and gold sections on your gaunts and schnees.

Can't wait to see this kit come to life!  :<3:

Have to agree with Corvyn, that second helmet design really has a certain something to it.
