Just joined after ordering the basic armor kit online and starting to purchase supplies.

So far I ordered the following:
Jumpsuit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6EB4R2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Cloth for vest: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006P5SD4Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Duster: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VHDZCQG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Obviously going with a desert theme. I actually already have left over boots from the military that I'll have to cover the laces on, but should work nicely (and, as a bonus, are already broken in). Figured the duster would be a nice touch.

I also have some scrap leather sitting around that I'll be using. Right now I am thinking of doing a loin cloth, girth belt and ammo belt.

Primary colors will be tan/khaki, brown and burnt orange/red. Working on some ideas for the patterning now.

I also ordered the following - which I now regret:
Armor: https://www.etsy.com/listing/224810305/larger-fan-made-mandalorian-armor-set?ref=shop_home_active_1&crt=1
Helmet: https://www.etsy.com/listing/482073855/large-mandalorian-mando-jango-fett-style?ref=yr_purchases

The armor isn't approveable from what I've read and I cannot cancel the order now. I may just order a full sheet of sintra and make my own using the armor patterns on here. Really wish I'd joined the forum and found all this before I ordered - oh well.

As for the helmet, he's not a recommended seller, but it looks like I dodged the bullet by ordering a simple helmet. I've read it's the greeblies that make his other helmets difficult to get approved. If anyone reads this and see something on that helmet that looks like I'll have to fix it, please let me know.

Hi there and welcome to the mercs.

Great to hear you have some thoughts on how you want your kit to look. make sure and head across to the Jadd Halls of Knowledge, there you will find lots of guides and tutorials on anything from armour, weathering, electronics and much more.

Helmet wise, I think you have been fortunate not to have purchased one of the others, I don't see any issue with this one.

First things first, you are in the right place for us folks to help you build you kit.

Post plenty of pictures so we can help you with armour sizing, positioning and attachment.
Look forward to see your progress

out of curiosity, what is wrong with the armor?  Is it too thin or foam?
Cutting armor out of sintra is super easy and cheap-ish.  I highly recommend that.

Welcome to the mercs! Good on ya for recognizing that the armor and helmet are both from banned sellers.  Since you're still early in the process it'll be easy to course correct and build an awesome set of armor.  We can't wait to see your progress.

For anyone wondering the armor is from Galacticrebelforces aka Shubiwan and was banned for selling low quality, improperly formed and overpriced armor that usually need a lot of work to be made approvable.

The helmet is from Zerocool Props who is also know for producing low quality helmets as well as adding readily recognized parts from toys (Optimus Prime ears/cheeks, X -wing rear end, etc.) to his molds as well as being a known recaster of helmets from other designers which is highly frowned upon in the costuming community.

That being said your ideas are great and are going to look fantastic once finished!
