Vibro Axe Concept - (added files)
« on: Jun 09, 2019, 06:06 PM »
Being Phoenix Fan Fest does not allow gun modeled weapons, I wanted to start on an axe for next year.  Here is a picture of the model so far and the 2 images that I used for inspiration.  My plan is to print each piece and a mirror to complete the other side.  The inner diameter of the shaft is sized to fit a 1" schedule 40 PVC.  As modeled, from tip of the blade 1 to base of blade 2 is around 20 inches.

The 2 pieces would have the same 1" PVC join them.  Being 2 pieces helps with fitting the print bed and being able to break down for storage/travel.

What I was hoping to get some input on:
Do you think 1" Schedule 40 is to big/small?  OD is 1.32.
Being 2 pieces (after assembling each "half")  I am not sure what I should use to keep aligned.  I don't want any screw visible but also dont want to putty over it so I can take it apart.

A few people have asked for my files for the Axe so I decided to add them to my DropBox.  3 files in the folder, You need to print the Top and bottom, then mirror and print again.  Tail is optional if you want the same tail style I used.   I designed them to fit my CR10-S4 which has a 400x400 print bed.  You may need to adjust as needed.

All I ask is if you do use the files is to share your finished product.
