As we're getting close to the end now, I'm going to get a bit more formal on our last few updates to encompass everything and show good details. Each post going forward will be on a single component and its final, finished form (culminating in final pics IN costume).

Here is our glove post!

I'm only going to say this once but our MAIN reference for just about everything was the standee, so assume for all parts (except the back plate) this is our main reference.

We also screen capped a couple of close-up glove shots to use

Here were our fresh globe covers. At this stage the only thing we had done any painting on was the main quilted piece as we used a piece of very light faux suede to make it but needed to darken it up.

They were than attached to a store bought pair of gloves that had the right fabric and seam lines,

And then finally we did a whole lot of weathering and painting to bring all of the pieces closer together and to match the colors and wear that we saw on all the references.

Here is our helmet post!

I think most everyone has the same few front and side shots of the helmet.

But we also had this back view that nobody else seemed to have which allowed us to modify the back of our printed helmet (from Sean Fields) before molding and casting to get as screen accurate as possible.

Here is a full turnaround of our cold cast helmet straight out of the mold

And here is the final painted helmet with visor installed and weathered.

And for good measure, here is a close-up of the texture - its not always obvious in some of the photos, so we want to call it out.

Here is our flight suit.

There were 3 key parts of the flight suit that were sort of non-standard that we wanted to capture from our references:

1. The sleeve details

2. The back of the neck seal

3. The weird side of the pants detail

And here is our finished flight suit:

1. Sleeve detail before/after weathering

2. Back of the neck seal

3. Pants and pants detail

Here are our apron and belt.

These are a few of the closeup bet and back of apron shots we took to use as further reference.

Our finished and weathered belt and belt greeblies.

Our finished apron both before and after weathering. The back detailing from most shots looked siginificantly different in color/tone that we used 2 different vinyls and then used weathering and leather paint to bring them closer together but for the detailing to still stand out.

And here is the final detail post - armor and cape! We're shooting the entire costume tomorrow and we'll be posting full turnarounds then.

Our weathered cape - we started with some shaggy gold faux fur, then used several layers and variations of black, brown, and burgundy leather dye to give the cape some depth and match the cape.

Close up of our base paint scheme on the armor before weathering - its a combination of 4 different rattle cans to get the right color and a hint of metallic shine to it.

Final backplate with weathering

And final chestplate with weathering
