Modern mando - army green with postman blue
« on: May 24, 2020, 06:10 PM »
Howdy folks! I'm making my first set for myself- made two for my girls a few years ago, but time to go for OM.

Here's my concept. Postman blue for the flightsuit, navy blue for the flak vest, then army or hunter green for the armor. Unsure right now on the accent color to use- either a brown, other green, or some wilder color. It'll definitely be matte/flat for the armor vs a gloss finish. The lighter color on the soft parts will definitely make weathering more fun- I definitely want this kit to look lived in vs pristine.

On the fence about bracers/vambraces right now- either buying some fancier ones or potentially making some that are more basic in shape.

Light armor is the current plan. Still deciding on kama vs codpiece and cape vs back armor. Still got time to make a decision- I may start the other pieces while working through the details there.

I like the color scheme so far! That light blue flightsuit will weather really nicely!

Just to clarify, you'd still need a cod if you had the kama. If you had a loin cloth, you could potentially forgo the cod.

Yes, thanks. I keep using kama and loincloth interchangeably and that's not accurate. No kama, but leaning towards a loincloth to start.

Sent some ideas on pouches to my brothers last night and they had a cool idea for some attachments/holsters. Ordered some items, we'll see if it works. Now the question is- will they come over and help me at all?
