Nice work. I like that color palette.

Thank you! The Deathwatch FB group was a huge help for the right colors.

Dang, that looks pretty darn good! Well done on your execution!!

Thank you!  Despite wanting to rush, I took my time (as best I could stand to).

Now for the acrylic washes.  First lay down something to contain the mess and gather supplies:

Then apply a liberal wash, then wipe it mostly off.  Repeat until you get where you are going.

After drying, you get this:

Dont forget the range finder!

Next, went in with silver Rub n Buff to highlight bare metal:

Next steps:
1.  Weather RF stalk with Aluminum Black
2.  Install visor with epoxy putty
3.  Install and weather the Borden connector
4.  Finish installing padding

More progress!

First was weathering the range finder stalk:

I used Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.  Make sure you take off any oxidation with a scour pad first, or else the AB will not work as well.

Supplies:

Apply the AB until you get it as dark as you like.  This stuff smells awful, so be in a well ventilated area.

Then rub it back with a scour pad until it looks like you like, then hit with a dusting of clear to protect.

And... here we go!

Next, visor install.  I was going to use epoxy putty, but the very thick visor that comes with the Lonewolf helmet was not a good one for that.

So, I prepped the inside with sandpaper to help the glue stick.

I used a couple of clips that I got on Etsy to pin down the sides:

And lined the top with the loop side of some industrial velcro:

Tacked down the bottom corners with a few spots of CA glue:

And here we go!

All that is left now is installing a Borden connector greeblie and new liner, then the Death Watch bucket will be done.

Added a steel Borden connector from Etsy.  Pretty straight forward.  Drilled the hole and held in with CA glue and E-6000.

Also installed the new liner and some mesh behind the key slots.

Finished!  Hopefully detailing my journey here helps someone else.  This was my first helmet and I learned a ton along the way.

Very well done, and thank you for how well you documented the process!
