Flightsuit

Started with a Redkap Action Back Coveralls from Amazon. Accidently ordered a size too large and did not realize until I had already removed the pockets. Turned out to be a happy little accident



Took the first flight suit and completely disassembled it providing a lot of extra material. My wife is a really talented seamstress, and did the following

- Cut off the sleeves just above the elbow, then took the spare sleeves, tapered them and stitched them into the suit to create the double sleeve look
- Tapered the legs
- Added velcro for the knee armor (on the back of the knees there is a channel for the elastic to feed through to hold the knee armor in place but hide the elastic
- Integrated the neckseal into the flight suit (still needs the snaps to seal it shut)

Gloves

Purchased Leather Assault Full Finger Tactical Gloves off of ebay



I wanted to make them match the flightsuit better so I used Angelus paint to color the leather




Still needs weathering to mute the grey a bit.

Boots & Gaiters

Started with a pair of Sketchers Blaine Orsen ankle boots



I wanted an elegant way to cover where the flightsuit and boots match, I know that lots of movement can cause that to shift. I picked up these equestrian gaiters on Amazon for about $25



Decided to give them the same treatment as the gloves, so hit them with some Angelus paint, I'm really pleased with the outcome

Been a while, work and real life interfering with my kit. That being said I am making progress:

Ammo belt, Ammo Pouches, Drop Leg Platforms, & Holster. 

The ammo belt and pouches will rest on top of the girth belt.

Drop leg platforms will sit on a belt that is underneath the Girth Belt and used to also hold the cod plate.







For the ammo pouches I wanted them to look like multiple small pouches, but be big enough to hold my cell phone in one and my wallet & keys in the other.  Here is the pattern I created based off a Boba pouch template:




Added a belt loop on the back, snaps, then sewed the sides together:








Next came the drop leg platforms, one will hold my pistol, the other a vibroknife (currently being 3D printed)



When I dye my pieces I used the primary color (in this example oxblood). Then I hit the edges with a watered down black dye to give it a more aged look as if the oils and constant rubbing against other pieces of gear had darkened the edges.
