minor update!

Decided to lean into the "imperial" of post-imperial build and grabbed some of the ammo pouched used in shadowtrooper kits.

obviously needs weathering and such, but happy with the look in the mock up!!

Vod, I'm digging the pouches, you can never have too many. And the 'looted from Imperials' look sits nicely into the P/I covert Mando aesthetic.

Also, that paint job is insane - I had to scroll back because at first glance I for real thought you had taken some bare steel plates and artistically corroded them, but they are painted.  Awesome work.

I would say it may look good with a smaller ab plate under the pouches, as there seems to be a bit of open space below the chest and above the pouches, so even adding a plate just in that space may add a bit to the look. Either way, looks really good, can't wait to see how this turns out

Thanks vod! Tbh this is coming together better then I expected. Decided to grab an imperial officer belt to keep the kama on and I'm thinking of grabbing a few rank insignia as trophies.

The paint was actually pretty easy, aged bronze base coat with acrylic black/burnt umber padded on with a damp sponge

I was thinking the same thing, just a simple sintra ab plate to blend the look.
I'm going to hold off until the kama is done to get a better idea of what it looks like without the plate

sad day, dropped the bucket.
This is a tiny bit of the damage, its EXTENSIVE on the front

But the good news is I recently picked up a bucket form Kick The Bucket here on the forums. couldnt be happier with so i'll probly just swap it out instead of rebuilding the original

Oh noooooooo! That vanguard helmet is so good. That's unfortunate that is got dropped - one of the downsides to resin casts and 3D prints sadly. You could always fiberglass from the inside and then repair the seams and either make it look welded together or hide the broken parts.

Looking forward to seeing this kit progress.  :like:

Sad day vod, sad day.

Pretty much the entire front of the bucket is beyond repair, I'd have to reprint most of it. By the time I'm done stripping the paint, filling, blending, and glueing I'd might as well have just reprinted the whole thing. Which I might do eventually lol.

But for now we'll see how this one goes

The saddest of days. In the good news, at least the kick the bucket helmet is nigh indestructible

That's the hope! I figured it would do well as a main trooping bucket so I don't have to worry in the future  :like:

Oh no! I would say many expletives but unfortunately that is not the way. But that's so sad.
Glad you have a backup, I would just check with a Ruus'alor or app team member that the new helmet's style is okay for the post imperial era.

Yeaaaah there were some explatives.
It should be fine, it meets the vent/ear requirements and there's nothing in the crl against a blast shield, but I might as well ask

This looks amazing.  I'm in the planning stages of my PI kit loosely based on the same concept art.  Your weathering is beautiful.

Thanks peeps!

The weathering is actually really easy to do. It's just marbled black, umber, and olive green acrylic paint dabbed on with a damp sponge. With a bit of practice you get the perfect acid wearing.

Ah ok! I was thinking it looked sponged on but wasn't sure. Well done  :like:
