well more work done on my headpiece, 6 hours of sanding and bondo, now coated with rondo for strength, after that is dried/set ill hit it with a 400grit sanding and it will be time for details (yay sculpting).

i havent found a suitable undersuit, and im starting to get a little put off by the search.
in other news im ready to start on my gauntlets, shins, chest and back pieces today (more sculpting) as well as the blades for my Beskad and fighting knives. thanks to psberetta for taking the time to pep an excellent helmet, hopefully i dont screw it up too bad. i also found pep files for shins and gaunts that look more like bone so im printing those up right now and will be cursing myself for cutting out all those pages by the end of the day. anyway just a small update right now and a bigger one later after i get some stuff pepped and resined.

Nice progress   I know a lot of people use military surplus flight suits for their base undersuits, and ViciousVestments [a member here] makes custom flightsuits as well.  You may want to hit him up with what you are looking for and see what her can put together for you.

Depending on the colors you're looking for, just hit Walmart or a thrift store and grab a cheap pair of dress or work-type pants and a shirt in a matching color. One of my 'flight suits' is a pair of black Dickies and a black button-down shirt that I modified (altered the collar and added a velcro throat-cover) and my other flight suit is a pair of brown slacks and a brown long-sleeved t-shirt-type shirt. They're comfy, fit better and are easier to get in and out of quickly than any actual flight suit or coveralls that I've ever worn.

fast update going to army/navy today after wife gets home to find a flightsuit hopefully, decided to go with only one crushgaunt for now as time wont permit both to be made as i just took on 4 paid commissions for space marine costumes, not to mention my other 2 costumes for A-kon this year in dallas, and mma training. anyway just wanted you guys know i was still plugging away at this one but taking my time and doing it as right as i understand it to be expect gaunt pics hopefully this weekend and wish me luck on the flightsuit

so today i walk in the door to find this laying on the floor (minus the patterns), apparently my wife was listening to me talk to my friend about how hard it is to find sintra in this god forsaken town, and scoured the yellow pages to find it. her words were, and i quote "youre a nerd, but its ok, i love you anyway" so after changing into my workshop clothes, i started working on my patterns, using ohld varts templates i got the chest abs and shoulders drawn on and went from this

now to figure out how to shape the pieces and put them together, and get more sintra for the backplate and lower pieces so i can get them cut out, well wish me luck the heat gun is calling my name, and its time to try my first piece

Youre going very cross era here and for the sake of CRL compliance I would urge you to stop where you are and rethink your plan.

Your helmet is spot on, without a doubt Early Crusader Era. The armro you are working on is Legacy style armor, which is classed as Modern Era armor. In Universe they are seperated by... 5,000 years or so.

From an application review aspect, you won't get approved with that helmet and that armor together. I fthey are for two seperate projects you are fine. But, for one project it won't work. You need to either stick wit the helmet and refer back to Early Crusader references and make armor styled along those lines or, replace the helmet with a Modern Era helmet to use that armor.

ok since i am going to have to outsource the bulk of the work for my vision of the early crusader, and im now operating on a time constraint that makes that impossible, i am going to shelve that project for now and use the legacy plates i already have to continue on and make a modern era mandalorian hand to hand specialist. i still plan to continue working on my early crusader but until; i learn to sculpt, mold, and resin cast, i cant even begin to make my dream a reality. also i will be finishing the early crusader helm i started in this thread and placing that wip in the helmets area, wish me luck vod'e and stick with me, this project WILL be finished

Ok Vod'ika this is going to be one monster update, my comp has been down for a while now and i just picked it up late last night and after working all day on getting my soft parts together and my first coat of paint on both my buy'ce and torso, back, shoulder, and ab pieces, here's all of my work progress. I'm going to let the pics tell the tale because just the thought of all of that typing makes my fingers ache, so without further ado:

Your chest and shoulder armor looks absolutely kick -censored-! Great job, I think it's extremely impressive.

I'd say the gun looks fine, just try dry brushing the high points.
Also before you get anymore painting done on that helmet I suggest fixing those tiny holes with some spot putty and using some medium grit sandpaper to get it all smooth.

well vod'e my buy'ce is almost finished, just need to do the last few coats of final detail and weathering, i know it looks like i neglected to smooth out the front part of my helm around the visor, but that is the area that will look like actual bone, and i like a bit of 3d realism to my battle damage, so the divots, i left in for a reason. anyway ill let the pics tell the rest of the story:





hopefully the design meets with your approval, and since teh rest of my armour is almost done, ill be hopefully ready for my first full dress fit this weekend so wish me luck

alright vod'e im getting closer and closer to being done with my beskar, so its time to get kitted up and see what i need to fix before i get all done and find i made a horrid mistake that i have to start all over to fix, right now im in the process of modding my shins and sewing my velcro to the flightsuit, as a backup to the velcro i will be making straps to go around the thigh plates (no sliding around its just bad form ya know) the plates are just stuck on with sticky-back velcro for the pics but will be more permanent when i am finished, and also do i need a vest with this or can i get  away without one? because i dont have one right now but i have everything to make it, im just about as good with a needle and thread as a slow, blind, 2 legged horse would be in the kentucky derby.

still unsure of whether or not i want armour on my upper arms, and havent made my decap guard either (just realized it when i was getting geared up and started looking for it lol) unfortunately the rf doesnt move as of right now but it will be fixed after i get everything else done. so vod'e give it to me straight what, other than the aforementioned, do i need to fix/make/look into redoing?
oh btw, im also looking at materials to make a flamethrower and wrist blaster for my gauntlets, any ideas or links on those would be awesome since im drawing a blank right now

I really, really like your design... however it just doesn't say "Mando" to me.  I'll wait for someone with more expertise than myself to say how approvable it is.  I do think your design is freakin' SWEET, though.

I can't wait to see it finished , your Doing a Tremendous Job with the Detail and Movement .
Don't change your Concept until your kit takes a Real Turn toward "Power Ranger" or a "Crossover" kit .
Then you may need to make a few alterations .
