Nikolai's Beskar Planner
« on: Nov 03, 2012, 11:21 AM »
Just ordered my plates from tk2280, figured I'd post some pictures of my current colour scheme and get some input:

Black, gold, and dark blood red.

There'll be an offset 'racing stripe' running across the dome on the right side (as viewed from the front) to match the one on the chest plates. I'm working on editing another picture showing what I have in mind.

Did you think about adding a cape of some kind?   I personaly like them they help with the back but thats just my opinion :)

I'm leaning more towards a modular pack of some kind, and possibly a kama, or half-cape.

Opinions are why I posted though, thanks for the input!

You could do with some yellow on the bottom half of you to balance the colours a bit ;) may be yellow knees?

I've been toying with the idea of extending the racing stripe down all the plates on that side. I had messed with yellow knees when I was doing the planner, but decided I wasn't really a fan of it. Originally, I had wanted to use a modified hockey knee/shin pad, but I guess that's out for now.

This ^ !  Like Niabi said sports armour aint allowed bud, besides is more expensive than actually making a set from sintra. Even buyin a decent set from any of the suppliers from the trading post is cheaper than sports pads.  ;)

Echoing Niabi on sports pads and color balancing across the armor sections.

Digging my old WIP up for some more feedback.

Re-vamping my colour scheme to account for having acquired an olive drab flightsuit.

I'm thinking a 2-3" trim around the chest, thigh, and shin plates, same green as the shoulders/visor. I figure that'll be the easiest way to show off some decent weathering on metallic plates.

Personally I'm not a fan of trim around the entire plate, but it's up to you.

Er, with the chest plates, just around the outer edges, not each individual plate.

I agree, adding trim always seems like a cool idea at first, but I personally don't like the way it comes out. And I like the latest scheme better than the first. ;)

New kid question. I have vac-formed chest plates, so there's a lot of extra plastic on them, like this:

I'm supposed to trim it down like such:

Right?

Is there a "righter" way to do it, or is marking an outline with a sharpie...

...and then using a cutting wheel about right?
