It's a soft yellow/light gold(?) I think...same color as my belt and kama. I was originally going to do scalps, but I didn't know how that would go over so I changed it to braid just to have something. You can't really see them in the picture because it's too dark, but I also have a strand of red and black in the loop.
I didn't know I shouldn't use gold, I can possibly remove it if it's going to be a lot of trouble, but I do really like it if there's anyway to work around it?


If you have the black and red in there as well you're fine.  it really isn't an issue, just something the various command levels get reminded about occasionally.  And scalps are fine....as long as you didn't actually go out and Scalp someone.

Slightly non-exciting update.
 Got my collar pate finished...I think. Or at least to the point I can live with it, after two months of work.   ???
Anyway, here she is. Other plates are a little crooked, but I think over all it's pretty good.


And got my shoulder plates all shaped (some of them got partially painted) today. More pics later on those.


and started my gauntlets. Will prob probably start a WIP thread on the gauntlet page for that, but if you have any thoughts on these now that would be great.

Thanks everyone. I'll hopefully have some more pics up by the end of the week. One of my shoulder plates is giving me some trouble. The paint bubbled, so you know, sanding and repainting had to happen before I could attach them - but so far so good.

update a lot sooner then I thought.

Got my plate(s) repainted and attached today. It was a little bit of an ordeal trying to get the one to work with me, but I think it turned out ok.
Put the clan emblem on my shoulder bell. It was too perfect the first time, so I scratched it up a little.







So then....all my armor (except gauntlets and my helmet) is FIN.  8) I feel a little bit weird that it's all done....

Little update on me: Got my right gaunt done, working on my left one (little more difficult because I'm attaching pipe to it). Not quite as fancy as I had pictured in my head, but maybe I'll go back and do another set in a while when I've got a little more experience with sintra.
Any suggestions on what to use to pad them?


And my blaster, Matilda. Cuz every good blaster need a name! (Finishing up my other two, pics when they're done)

Me like. Gaunt is really unique as is Matilda. I use foam from a Pelican Case for my bucket but those are expensive, cushion foam could be nice and I think most fabric stores or art stores would have it.

You might try padding the gauntlets with Foamies craft foam. You can usually find two thickness of the stuff at JoAnns or Michael's.
