Shri Dabol's Armor Planning

Okay, I'm terrible at sketching, and I can't take screenshots of the Mando-maker, so you all are going to have to bear with me as I describe my plans, in the order that a canon CRL describes...stuff.

Soft Parts

Flight Suit
The flight suit will hopefully be a bluish-grey with a matching neckseal, unless the neckseal should match the vest. I'll do the double-sleeve thing, but I'll need to figure out how first.

Flak Vest
Blue pleather, probably. Unless I find something better.

Kama
Black, probably felt kama with a purple hem.

Boots
I have a pair of boots, and will post a picture soon. They're black, and require weathering, but I'm pretty sure that they meet standards.

Gloves
I have a pair of black gloves that match the boots.

Waist Wrap
I dunno. A red or purple sash maybe?

Belt
Regular brown belt with buckle. I have one pouch that will be going on the left side. The right will hopefully have a holster, if I can get enough leather or sintra. Or just find a Swarzy holster.

Hard Parts

Helmet
Will probably be Rubies Two-piece Jango
The dome, back, cheeks, etc. will be a flat gray. The face will be red, and the cheekbone things will be purple. The rangefinder head will probably be purple as well.

Shoulder Plates
The shoulder plates will both be purple, with a jagged flower done in red on the right one. Maybe a mythosaur on the left.

Neck Plate/Gorget
Will be red.

Left Chest Plate
Will probably be hazy red on a gray undercoat. The slots should be purple, or maybe a color that hasn't shown up yet. Yellow?

Right Chest Plate
Same coloring as left.

Diamond
Purple

Ab Plate
Hazy red feathering down into gray towards the bottom. A bit like the Mauldorian plates, but a lighter gray, rather than black.

Back Plate
Red with the jagged flower design across it in purple.

Cod Armor
Will be gray

Knee Plate
Will be either red or purple. I haven't decided.

Gauntlets
Will be custom-built from PVC pipe. Will be painted red, scarred silver.

Rifle
Will be a black, lever action rifle with a scope mounted on top, and probably a sling.

DC-15
Will be as close to a canon deece as I can get it. So, black on silver.

It's hard to tell with out a visual, but it seems like you're going to have quite a few colors on the kit.  Can't wait to see what you've got in mind.

It's a plan, like Jorad said visuals would help.

The following are just suggestions that might help bring it together.
The colors you have are blue/grey, blue, black, purple, red, brown, grey, and possible yellow.
Match your boots and belt with black. You only have brown on the belt.
Purple sash/girth to match the purple trim on your kama. Maybe change both to blue and leave the purple to the armor.
Vest and flight might look good matching as well since the material will give contrast there.
What do you mean by hazy red on the chest plates? MS Paint's spray paint tool look where its randomly speckled or like you did a half-coat of paint so the lower layers show through?
Go with the purple lights, yellow has no need to be in your dark cool color palette.
The cod seems out of place as the only grey, apart from the bucket, to fully show through.
Go with red knees to match the gaunts.

Feel free to tell me I'm stupid with any of the suggestions.

No, nothing stupid there. You're absolutely right.

By hazy red, I mean that it starts solid towards the top, and then feathers into gray towards the bottom of the plates. I'll try to work out a sketch, but it probably won't help much.

So a full layer of red spray paint with like 3 coats at the top going down to 2 in the middle of the plate and finally 1 coat to show the grey through which is the main color of the cod. That could be really cool.

I would suggest doing all the plates at the same time then, set up all the plates and start at the bottom and work up in horizontal strokes with a light coat. Each coat you start higher than the previous coat to allow that feathering/show through effect. At the end of painting you will only need to do a light coat at the at diamond level and up.
Do the same with your purple pieces too so the grey shines through on the diamond and shoulders.

Thanks. I'm working on a sketch now. Then I'll have to actually get the plates.  :P

The fade from one color to another is called a 'gradient' as an interesting fact.  So you've got a red to grey gradient.

And here, if it works, is my awful sketch. It's really supposed to be more of a color diagram, since I'm osik at drawing. I incorporated a few of Natan's suggestions.

Definitely an interesting look to the armor. Eager to see how it works out on the armor.

So am I. Since I colored it with marker, that's not how the coloring will actually look, it's more of an approximation.

Man, are you saying you're not going to color the armor in with marker?!?!? I was totally looking forward to that!  :P

Haha, no.

I just ordered my flight suit and Buy'ce. They should be here by the seventh.

Scratch the seventh. They just showed up. Flightsuit fits at the shoulders, but needs to be hemmed at the wrists and ankles. I'm still trying to open the helmet package.

Looks like a good start! You'll need to tailor your flightsuit's arms and legs, but I like the color :)

I'm working on tailoring it now. I just wanted to get it up here so I could do a before/after once I'm done.

And thanks, I like the color, too.
