Scratch Built Steel Buy'ce (WIP)

I don't get on the forum much these days, but ConDar and Zedrin keep telling me i need to...

So here goes you two,

Steel helmet made of 14 ga steel.


About to trace the template for the dome.



Half the dome shaped.



Dome shaped and sanded.



Dome and sides finished, sanded, and one coat of primer on.



Cheek pieces cut out.



All pieces prepared.



Grinding the welds down.



Cheeks done and another coat of primer on.



That's all for today.

The dome was made of two halves, dished and welded together.

Very nice, always good to see a fellow metal worker on here.  Helmet looks realy good,  when i did mine i cheated on the dome.  I cut down an old civil defense helmet.

This past weekend was Sci-Fi family day at Discovery World in Milwaukee. Helped out Cin'ciri Verda with the table we had there.

Still have work to do on the helmet and amor, but it was a fun day.
