Still deep in the planning stages of my kit/helmet/blaster/sword, and still thinking up new ideas.

So, for my blaster I have plans to include a spot light and laser. But I also want to use some spear parts from lightsaber building, and make a barrel light that emulates the blaster being fired. Just a red/orange light flashing out the barrel.
But since my weapon is going to be a SMG style blaster, I would need it to flash rapidly, to have a full auto effect. And then there's the idea of sound effects as well.

Any ideas on how to make this work? I've been looking at flasher circuits, and that might be the best option (for just the light), but I'm sure someone has done something like this before.

I'm still not sure If I want to try and do lights with sound, since this is my first blaster. But, the link you provided as such an awsome setup and easy to follow guide, that I might have to Just DO It.

Just do it.

Even if you burn out every component of your first build, it's cheaper than taking a paid class and the experience is worth ten times that. Mark 2 will likely work just fine.

I'd like to see if I can turn the sound up some, but other then that, I just have the challenge of fitting everything in the blaster and closing it up.
