Attack of the Clones Cadet – Verdika

CRL Disclaimer: Please be aware that the denotion of Verd’ika in this CRL means it is intended for a member under the age of 18, following all of the club rules as they relate to Trainee Members. This CRL is not intended for approval by the Verd’ika Corps.

Suggested fabrics include cotton, cotton blend, polyester, or other matte durable fabric. Fleece, flannel, spandex, and other shiny fabrics will not be accepted unless stated otherwise. No printed or textured fabrics are allowed. No weathering is present for this costume. All edges must be hemmed/finished. No raw cuts of fabric are allowed. Costume colors should match references as closely as possible.

Under Suit

  • The undersuit is navy blue with long sleeves that reach the wrist.
  • One or two-piece under suits are acceptable. If two pieces, the top, and bottom must be of the same fabric color and material
  • The pants of the undersuit are tucked into the tops of the shin plate and bloused at the knee
  • There is a sigil patch covering the bicep of each arm. The sigil is a white oval that has a black outer edge. The symbol in the middle of the oval is outlined in black on the edges of the “letters,” and the inside is medium gray. The symbol is made of two characters; on the left is a two-section character resembling an “i,” and the second symbol on the right is a character resembling an “l.” Printed, embroidered, or painted patches are acceptable and must match photo references.

Tunic

  • The tunic is a medium blue-gray and reaches the top of the thighs.
  • The tunic has a round neck with a short v cut in the front. The undersuit should not be visible underneath the tunic at the v of the collar.
  • The top of the tunic reaches out over the shoulder, then angles down towards the body at the armholes to create an angular cap over the shoulder, matching reference photos
  • The tunic has upward ‘v’ cuts on the bottom at the hips that are approximately 1 1/2 to 2″ long.

Belt

  • The belt is made of leather or leather-like material
  • There is an approximately 2-3 inch black belt at the waist on top of the tunic. The belt wraps around the back and is held in place by a single loop with the same width as the belt. The end of the larger belt is a rounded triangle shape. A second ½ inch belt is made of a rounded cord type material in the center of the larger belt. There are four small rectangular loops on the larger belt that hold, the smaller belt in place. There are two loops in the front and two in the back, matching reference photos for placement by the size of the wearer
  • The smaller belt closure is a slide holding the two ends of the smaller belt together and letting the ends hang in the front, ending 2-3 inches above the hem of the tunic.

Boots

  • The boots are black ankle-high Chelsea style boots (taller boots are acceptable as long as the top of the boot is hidden underneath the shin plate).
  • The boots are made of leather or leather-like material.

Shin Plates

  • There is a knee-high black shin plate. The front of the shin plate is straight across the boot, then angles down to the sides to cover the sides of the tops of the boots, then goes straight along the back. The shin plate flares out at the ankle. There is an angled section on the front of the shin that angles from the back of the leg to the front, wrapping around at an angle to the center of the front of the shin, then reaches straight down to the bottom of the shin plate on each side of the leg.
  • The shin plates are made of a rigid material such as thick leather or leather-like material or can be made of approved armor material

Hair

  • Any hairstyle is allowed.

Tunic

  • There are no patches on the biceps of the undersuit

Hairstyle

  • Chin length hairstyle must match photo references
  • If a wig is used, it should be of good quality and seem like actual hair

Quality of Armor/Prop Material:

All armor parts and props should have no visible construction methods, including but not limited to Bondo, putty, filler, 3D print lines, or sanding marks. All finished parts should have an even and smooth finish. Paint that has bled under taped-off sections must be cleaned up and not left unaddressed. Only pieces that are supposed to be crude within the Star Wars universe, such as bone or other organic materials, cracked leather, hammered metal, severely weathered parts, etc., are exempt.

All painted parts should have an even and smooth finish. Rushed, excess paint resulting in runs, uneven, and orange-peeling paint jobs will not be accepted.

3D Prints:

The use of 3D printed parts for armor and weapons is allowed. The 3D prints must be sanded and filled as such so that no visible print lines remain

Worbla is only allowed for adding additional details to armor plates as it is not strong enough on its own.
Any visible EVA foam is not allowed. EVA foam is only permitted as backing for other materials as long as it is not visible.
