I had a RC suit back in the day .. so I am trying to make a hybrid mando/RC and also a big fan of scorch paint scheme.. :D

What did you use to hold the el wire in place around the visor?

I had to use a dremel and cut inside t part , sort of like making a ditch so the el wire can rest inside. some places inside where thin so i used plumbers putty to make it thicker and then cut inside the thicker parts it was a b it tricky but it can be done. :)

Did you glue it into the trench?

yup , i used gorilla glue and it held it place.

Second hand of weathering next will be a coat of sealer.

those are some weapons! Personally I think the pistol could use to be a bit beefier, given the commando thought(that pistol is a beast!) but yours still looks great! and the lights are nifty too. That rifle tho.... :kiss:
and after seeing that gorget... dang I wanna see it all now! this is seriously gonna be a monster of a kit when its done. I am excite. *grabs popcorn*

Neck guard looks good. I just worry about how it would effect your ability to move your head, which would effect your visability (just a safety / functionality thing, ya know?)

thanks guys , the neck guard has enough space to turn my head with the bucket on , i made it sure i would be able to turn , it has at least 2 inches of room on each side so the bucket does not hit , i wouldnt want to trip or have to turn side ways completely to look to the side , thank you for the feed back guys. :D

I'm just glad you aren't going to trip and fall in your armor. With the effort and energy you're putting into it to make it look awesome, I'd hate to see something break.

Is this all Sintra board? how and where were you able to get it so thick if so?

I used sintra for the top part to make the panel and the square itself, is foam and then I used plumbers putty to cover the whole thing sandded it i also glaze it with gorillia glue to give it a bit more strength to it and it's a solid piece.then a added the sintra on top and more sanding .

started to work on the chest piece and traced out the abdomen don't mind the tape it just hides the lines i traced beforehand. :P

i used a Smith & Wesson M3000 Tactical Spring Airsoft Shotgun and added the wooden shotgun butt, and added the optics from a nerf gun and different types of greebles i had around.

so the shoulder bels come with the kit raw just the bells the detailing was made by me with sintra the 2 lower parts i made my self with plastic from does mini garbage plastic cans i headed them up with a heat gun and used sintra and some greeble i had for the detailing .

What do you use a tightening screw for?
Also, on your shoulder bells, did you add the extra layers with 1mm sintra?

Got it. I'm not going to lie, my build is in part inspired by yours. Is it okay if I mimic a few things? Since you are making your Mando more military than mercado (seems to me) and so am I, maybe it'll look cool if they have a few similar features? I don't know. What a brilliant build! I can't rave on this enough. Great job.
The only thing I have concern over is (and mind you I am not a voting member of the APP TEAM) what looks like EVA foam set in the interior of your neck armor. I think you already touched on it being sealed up, but I just wanted to make sure that the inside is just as solid as the outside.
Phenomenal job, for sure. You very well have raised the bar for building heavy armored Mandos!

yup i am planning to fill it up and cover it with a layer sintra on the inside so it will look like a solid piece what i do i use plumbers putty and fill the gaps and cover the foam making a a solid part then i cover it up with sintra and i fill the small edges with gorilla glue and sand it . :)

Is that a kidney plate you're using for the neck? If so, you'll need to change that out. Per CRLs:
"Unmodified armor pieces from the Boba, Jango, and Legacy templates are not permitted to be used in place of other armor pieces. For example, unmodified shoulder cannot be used in the place of knees."

It is a plate but will modify adding plates and greeble will update with modified part .

I'd say greeb that up or modify it more so that it isn't so recognizable as a kidney plate and I think you'd be fine. The key is the "unmodified" part of the CRL rule.

That looks better. Still think it could use a wash of a lighter brown or something, but that might just be me.

That's beautiful! Reminds me of old plaster, or a wooden garden fence that's been repainted many times. I think the modified weathering pattern will do you just fine :)

Thats a really stunning paint job.....I'm loving that that the base layer goes to rust, and the addition of the rust water marks is just awesome. Did you layer up spray paint/masking fluid and work in with paint over the top? If not how?

yup ( layer up spray paint/masking fluid) it takes a bit of time but it looks great when you finish it , i also use different sponges and do a dry rub around the edged and were i want it darker with a few colors black , brown, yellow and a few light washes and then the black wash , also a cool trick
after the black wash dries i use windex to make like water splashes on the piece.

here is my weathering
i use a few colors watered down then i apply a dried color black brown etc
after this i apply the balck wash then apply the windex , i go back and dry rub black brown and add the small details with a thin paint brush , and use windex again with a rag to smear clean the edges.

No, he meant you posted twice in a row on this thread, but the rules also state as long as its an important update double posting is allowed, so no problem here.

I meant that you posted twice in a row within 30 minutes. The update/progress stipulation is if no one has posted for a few days and you add more. Posting pictures of what you want to make with the preliminary mock-up and then 30 mins later posting the painted piece is considered double posting. All you needed to do was modify the mock-up post and add your finished product. Go ahead and make as many threads in different sections as you want (granted they belong in the section) but don't quickly post more than once in each thread.
The rules actually say nothing about updates being exempt. Below is the full text of rule 8:
"Please refrain from making double posts. Use the 'modify' button to fix or update a post if you were the last person to add to a discussion."
Technically there should never be double posts but we don't mind if it's been a few days since you may need some feedback and it will notify people of a new post in your thread.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but is that front portion of the neck guard made of EVA foam?

everything that is on the outer portion of the neck guard is sintra the inside has the foam ,the eva foam is cover with plumbers putty sanded and glazed with gorilla glue , to make it stronger and keep its form ,after this I covered it with anothet layer of sintra and seal the edges with the gorilla glue.

not much today just made some detail to the bucket to make it more personal with the rancor logo and
planet flags,as location of bounties that i have visted and had a success. :D

thank you , i am glad that the kit is holding to the standards of the club , and tadaaaaaaa last part painted in my kit i am just missing flight suit and vest and boots .

small update i got my vest, working on placing the snap buttons and also decided to make a small concealed weapon
a fear stick. i am going to make a small holster for it and the ammo for it.

Agreed. My one other suggestion would be to dirty up the flightsuit a bit to match that nasty-looking (in a good way) armor. Otherwise, freaking outstanding, vod!

Only thing I would recommend (now that I see it) is possibly a girth belt or sash for the gap between the belt and vest.

Thanks everyone i just submitted the pics to the rancor pre submitting review , and just waiting also like corriban said i have to do some tailoring but i might as well buy a smaller suit and cut the vest on the side so it more snug we shall see, again thanks everyone .very happy how it came out.

Because you're a member of Rancor I won't be voting on your app. A couple of things you could tighten up.....
Weathering the soft parts. This has to be one of the most commonly overlooked steps. Your armor is of course bad AF! The weathering job is next level. Which makes you're April fresh soft parts stand out that much more. Weather that girth belt those spats, the web gear, ammo pouches, and while it looks like there's some grime on the flight suit add some light colored weathering to make it all pop.
I also agree with Corriban that the flight suit is a little baggy and could stand to be taken in. Or add a kama ;D
I'd also HIGHLY suggest you add some details to the web gear. Just a few strips of armor here and there to make it look less Earthy. Kind of like the white armor plates on the web gear worn by the Heavy Gunner in TFA.
I don't think any of this will get your app kicked back but I'm sure there will be a strong suggestion to weather your soft parts before your first official invasion.
I've been out of the loop too long. You live down the road from me and I'm only now seeing this beast!

thanks for the feed back everyone i will be looking into making a kama lurking around to find some templates also the idea for the armor like the heavy trooper is awesome did not think of that and also will weather those soft parts and the girth belt , as for the vest i might open them on the side and add Velcro so its snug around the chest , again thank you .

One other detail (shouldn't effect approval though) I see is that the bottom of your shoulder plates look like they're supposed to sit against your upper arm, but are floating. Adding a strap to pull them to your arm would make it look a lot more finished.

Hello everyone thanks for the feed back took a bit of a break on my build and i will start addressing the fixes on my list are the following :
1:weathering the girthbelt and the spats
2: creation of a kama
3:white glove armor plates
4: adding some type of armor for my visible green belts web gear
5:a better fitting flight suit
6: work on the baginess of my vest
and i think that might do it

not much today added some light armor plates to the glove .. i have my second wind with the suit , i have to finish and get approved for celebration next year.

thank you all here a pic of the gaunt and the glove , i forgot who mentioned about the glove was lost in the pic since it did not have some thing to tell apart from the suit , thanks its good having lots of eyes on small details :) next will be weathering the girth belt and making some sort of webbing armor.

Those spats looks awesome, what technique did you use to weather them? I am getting ready to weather my soft parts and am a little apprehensive and unsur about techniques.

webbing armor completed aww yesss. and for weathering i use acrylic paints waterd down with windex i did a small tutorial on my build for weathering . now for a new coverall and i think i am done.

i have a issue if some one of the app team can help me or give their thoughts , it is regarding my neck armor piece the construction part i submitted my app pics and was sent back because the neck , the contruction is a mix of cintra , parts of hard plastic trash bin and the innards are eva foam that lay on top of the rigid structure i have the following pics and will explain the process , i just want to know if this will not pass the app process.any feed back will be highly appreciated.
this front part is made of a layer of trash bin hard platic and heated to give it the curve after this i layered cintra on top for detailing all this fron piece is not eva it is plastic .

5th back part is the kidney plate modified and greebeles added and side pieces rae part of a printer case.

6th the inside, the inside is layered with eva foam which has been coated with several layers gorilla glue to give it strength and a piece of cintra is layered on top to give a type of padding the eva is more to fill up the inside of the piece and then glued on top of the hard plastic pieces, not the actual armor that is visible on the outside of the build . more of a filling material

The updated pictures help us a lot actually. EVA is something we look for pretty closely, so when we see it in a WIP, it's bound to come up once app pics are submitted. It was hard to tell if you had the EVA covered originally on the inside, but regardless, it's gtg now. And good work with the extra weathering so far. It's all coming together nicely. :)

If you haven't, I would actually recommend weathering the kama to match the armor, as well as any other soft parts.

today i decided i needed some sort of blade weapons so i decided to make a vibro blade knuckle duster style.

Urban Asault i think i meet the crl just missing a extra grenade , but firtst things firts get OM. don't know if i my kit will need reworking .

Its not the official name as far as I'm aware, its just what we called them when I played the roleplay game, but seemed to suit them :D
267th UA is definitely be where this kit goes, it suits it to a T, maybe demolitions due to collar, but 267th either way ;)
