Title: "SIBE AUTOMATION" sintra
Post by: bluecwsoldier3 on May 10, 2017, 09:57 PM
I recently made a purchase of "sintra" from a vender called SIBE AUTOMATION on Amazon. When I opened it up I initially thought it was just not quite right, but would still be usable. I was wrong. After cutting out my pieces for my back plate, shnees, and boot armor, I started to notice it was cutting differently than other sintra I had used for other parts. It was almost too foam like. When I heated it to shape, it didn't heat properly and began to bubble, and wouldn't properly hold the shape I was attempting to form it to. It's not the foam core board I've seen places. I checked on Amazon and it was indeed listed as "sintra". I've since requested a refund, but am outside the window of returns on Amazon. So we shall see what happens.

I am posting this for a few reasons,
1. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue of ordering "sintra" but getting a different product.
2. As just sort of a "Buyer Beware" regarding SIBE AUTOMATION.
3. To see if anyone has has a similar situation.

I'll post how this turns out for me on this thread. Hopefully they will resolve it in a positive manner. Unfortunately this has sort of slammed the breaks on my build, and is obviously frustrating and if my experience can help others at least someone will gain from it.

Both of my kits and my wife's kit are 100% sintra from SIBE AUTOMATION, purchased through Amazon. I've ordered at least 4 different times from them over the last year. No problems whatsoever. Sounds to me like you got the wrong product sent to you by mistake. Do you have a link to the exact item you bought? Or pictures of the product? I'm curious to see what you got.

Here's the link.

I'd order more from them based off the pictures of their "celtec" stuff, which doesn't look like it's foam core, but as you can imagine I'm a bit reluctant to pull the trigger on it because it's money. They sell all over Amazon and EBay, so hopefully even though I'm outside the window they will work with me so they keep the good reviews going.

This is really killing me, I'd been making so much progress. Oh well.

I picked up Celtec on Amazon but I went through Vycom, especially since SIBE seems to sometimes get items mixed up.

Sorry to hear that you got a mix-up package.

I've ordered from them a couple of times for my first kit and the white sintra that arrived from amazon through that vendor turned out to be fine.
I'd send them an email and info regarding your last order even though it's still outside the refund window to let them know.

I'm sorry that so happened with this order. I think it's the fault of an unscrupulous seller. He just wanted to sell a low-quality product and make money on it without thinking about the consequences at all. I also had such problems when I ordered from different online stores. For example, I ordered a tent mat from Aliexpress a couple of months ago. I checked the dimensions, but it was half the size of the declared one when the product arrived. It's a good thing that I ordered powerflex for home automation from a local online store automationwebstore.com (https://automationwebstore.com/allen-bradley-drives/powerflex-700/).
