Post by: Gio659 on Aug 15, 2017, 09:56 PM
Hi all im Gio. Live in Nanaimo BC, been thinking about making a mando for a little while now and since i now have a girlfriend who wants to do one aswell its definatly happening sooner rather then later. At the moment i am a member od the 501st have a tk and just finishing an At At driver. I have some ideas as to what i would like to try and do but i will have to do some research as to what is allowed for customization. Look forward to adding more as things progress!

Hey Gio.   We have a few members in Nanaimo who I'm sure will chime in soon.

Welcome to the boards, and I look forward to helping out however I can.   You are in good hands with the crew over there.

Working on ideas at the moment so far i am thinking concept boba helmet, modern plating, not sure of colour scheme at this time. But was curious if adding cosmetic stuff like horns or tubes to the helmets are allowed?

Check out the Brigades section.

The Brigades, Support Division sub-section Beast Masters.
I have not read their costuming section but I believe they may allow horns on helms.

The Brigades 267th sub-section Pilots, where tubes may be encouraged/allowed for their helms.

It's kinda an either/or but a bit too much w both.
Personally I'd get all the basic stuff up to compliance before getting into that much detail.

Only OMs can access those sections ;)  but yeah, what TRM said.  Pilots love tubes.   Beastmasters love horns/trophies/pelts.   Typically the idea is that someone hunting beasts doesn't want hoses that will get caught on the brush or on the beast's tusks or whatnot.    On the other hand, a pilot is expected to have some form of emergency life support system so hoses to a hip canister or a chest box like a TIE pilot, for example, are ideal.

Great thanks for the info! Probably more beastmaster then. Wanting to do a young kryat dragon jaw on each cheek connected with some brown rope to some metal rings glue to the helmet to hold them on and give them alittle movement. As an idea unsure about someother parts.
