Title: Electrical gauntlet wip
Post by: Xarka Shul on Jul 23, 2019, 05:49 PM
Not sure if this is a question for the Gauntlet group or the electronics group. So I am looking to wire four toggle switches to my left gauntlet for different parts of my kit. I am have a basic idea of how to do what I am planning but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Really depends on what you need the switch to do, or the problem is how ti make the wire run from the gauntlet to the armor?

You'll need 1 + n wires, where n is the amount of switches.
One wire down from your helmet to your gauntlet carrying power, then you "bridge" the input of the switches on your gauntlets soldering shorter wires.
Then you take the output wires from the switches up to the helmet again.
Fett gauntlets have hoses, you could copy that and run your wires through them. Or use multi-wire cables like these:

You might want to look into a multi conductor plug as well, so you can disconnect the helmet from the gauntlet.  Digikey is a good source for this kind of thing.

Considering everything is in your helmet, why don't you think about small switches inside your helmet? This way you can avoid having wires running everywhere. You can leave prop switch on the gauntlet or leave them for the "maybe". Which kind of light are you hoping to use and wich power source?
