Title: Mal's Armaments WIP
Post by: Malchais on Apr 28, 2020, 11:24 PM
Thought I would start posting some WIP's outside of the the Clan Section. I am going to tie all my weapon WIPs into this thread for convienence purposes.

Here is my Thermal thus far. 3d print from Iron Phoenix Props. I will say it was a nice print, didn't take too much elbow grease to get it smooth. I think I am at the point where all I'm gonna do paint wise from here is the thumb grip a flat black. Then matte clear coat and install the electronics. What is everyone's thoughts/suggestions on it?

Customized Westar 35 Blaster - constructed from MDF (3 layers), hardwood dowel for barrel, and sintra for the grip plate and trigger. A few touch up spots and a couple other aesthetic paint tweaks and I think I am ready for weathering.

Customized Verpine Sniper Rifle - still in a rough state with this one, but trucking along. 3 layers of MDF (1 3/4" and 2 1/2" thickness), PVC for the flash muzzle and heat shield thing, hardwood dowel for the main barrel. Neodymium magnets to secure plate that covers battery access for EL wire, sintra side plates, cheap tasco scope from walmart (i think i need another scope or beef this one up somehow). Just added barrel supports made from sintra and swapped out the red EL wire (really looks more orange and sucks under indoor lights, to green, will show better). Supports not pictured yet.

Vibro Chopper - Sintra blade, crossguard, tang, pvc pipe handel, EL wire construct. Working on integrating the power switch into the handle. Design changed from initial straight blade with teeth to chopper with teeth to just chopper.

I printed off that same model, collected the needed electronics but haven't yet figured out a good way to install the switch mechanism. I'd love to see how you do it.

I ordered the electronics kit with it from Iron Phoenix and it came with good instructions to install it. I will post pics once they are in. Just waiting on some files to clean up the print lines on the thumb grip. Clear coated the domes yesterday since the weather was decent here.
