Title: Flak Vest Option
Post by: lunchsack86 on Jan 18, 2021, 11:14 AM
Question

Is it possible to take a scrub shirt and use it as a flak vest?

Short answer? No. The material isn't thick enough to hold the weight without sagging and looking bad. You need denim, canvas, pleather/leather...

Thats what i thought too, wanted a second opinion from the hive mind.

i also thought of starching the shirt to hell and back. or stitching it up tighter on the side or what not

If you're going to do all that work just get some canvas.

oh i have some. i just really doubt my abilities to recreate my vest. I made my 1st one with an open back and crappy velcro that i cannot remove.

I wanted a side open with a better quality Velcro for my plates

I tried looking through the forums.

Are there any approved "plate carriers" for vests?

There are a couple flak vest sellers in the Mandalorian Supplies section.
