Title: Visor and Padding help
Post by: Nathaniel Shrike on Mar 19, 2010, 11:49 PM
My visor's falling out.  I have the Jango Fett one piece bucket with the original visor about half intact.  I kinda need to replace it.  But I was wondering what colour visor I should go with that would look good on it.  Black, Mirror reflective (And where to purchase one), green, or red?

And it's kinda loose.  Even on my big head.  ;)  I was wondering where (Besides ebay if possible.  We've been screwed with them before) I can get specific padding for this bucket.  You're advice will be appreciated.

ebay has buyer protection... you can always get your money back as a buyer if something goes wrong.  Just make sure you read the listings carefully and know exactly what you're bidding on.     I bought this stuff and it worked out really well

rj safety has the #5 dark green face shields used on bith boba's and jango's hero helmets. when installed they appear black. if you overlay a bright green shield over the dark green, it gives your visor a green appearance. you just have to be careful to seal it up really good when you install it as if there are any gaps sweat or/and condensation will build up between the two and cause you problems.

although i generally don't recommend t-visor.com's visor over the face shield mainly because i don't think it's worth the extra $, when putting a visor in  vinyl helmet, i highly recommend the thicker, sturdier plexiglass visors from t-visor.com. the reason is the vinyl helmets will deform. the sturdier plexiglass cvisor will better help hold the shape and add falir to the helmet (if you shape the helmet to the visor rather than molding the visor to the helmet).

also as a side note, for club admittance, you must replace the stock visor anyway.

The padding I used for my bucket: Plain old soft foam cut (with scissors) and glued in.  $5 or less at almost any Walmart or hardware/home improvement store.  Look for air conditioner insulation.
