So after starting my build, my little ones went nuts. So instead of one set i now have 3 to build. With that said I have some what finished the paint up on my daughters armor and am looking for some feedback.

I know i need to redo the cod at a minimum since i forgot to weather it
-
so after a small paint malfunction in which i pulled the tape off to soon, I made some good progress on my son's build.

I used black boot polish for the grime and I do believe i have a use for it again.
and as far as my armor goes i Have made some progress and i think i have the plates sized right but again i am no expert lol. So with that being saide any feedback or tips would be greatly appriciated.

You could trim a hair off the collar plate. The lower corners of the collar should line up with the out side corners of the chest plates. Where your spacing looks good, I wouldn't mess with that, but I would trim the plate. BTW the verd'ika plates look great!
-
Daughters armor - Looks pretty decent, except for (like you said) the codpiece.
Sons armor - weathering looks very splotchy, very rounded and not really all that natural. Boot polish works for grime, black chalk dust and black paint sprayed like 3' above the armor is what i used. Watered down black acrylic is used to great effect to (i havent done it myself) The paintjob itself looks really good. I like the colors and line work.
Your plates - well proportioned and fitted :) Looking good man
-
I'll concur with the collar being a bit too wide, and add that your shoulder looks a touch low too. Move it up maybe an inch, give or take.
Nice work on the verd'ika armor, their friends are going to be horribly jealous!
-
All looking good, but you need to cover the zipper on the flack.
-
Black boot polish, huh? How did you apply it?

Yeah I'm not real impressed with the weathering on my son's armor..was alot harder to use the toothpaste method on plates the small. At least he'll be grown out of them in a month or 2 after all He is a beast. Over all this has been good practice for when I get a chance to get mine in order.

Yeah i Know i have plans on how I'm going to do it, Just not sure if I want to use that for my Vest in the end.

Funny how it works..now that somone has said it about the collar piece I can definatley see it lol. As far as the shoulder bell goes I need to flatten it out and start over. The shapping on both of them ended up looking pretty bad close up, but i will definatley keep that in mind on the next fitting. Oh and yeah i will definately ave to coolest 2 and 4 year old up here.

I used cotton balls to dab it on and the a wet paper towel to spread it. If you decide to try it I strongly suggest practicing on a scrap piece of plastic. took me a couple times to perfect my method.
Thanks for the advice guys.

So after a short break, I finally had a chance to work on my set and here iss what i have so far

still need to tidy up the plates and do a bit of reshaping the Ab plate but as far as sizing and spacing go, does this look good?
-
That looks well sized and fitted.
-
Looking good Vod ;D
-
Looking very good. The sizing is almost spot on. Only thing i can see that is a bit off would be the outermost points on the left and right chest pieces. They look to be sticking out past your chest a bit. Spacing is perfect :)
Not so sure about that white paintjob tho ;)

Hadn't realized how long its been since i last posted...
Since I am not artisticly gifted I need some good ol' feedback on my weathering. A couple of things i already know before anyone says anything, the line on the collar piece isn't lined up properly and I need another black wash for touch up. Since I will be sanding the collar piece down and starting over, I figured I would ask about the rest, so if need be i can sand it all at one time. Thanks

That weathering is the best of the pics you've posted so far. It's a good amount and the primer adds nice depth.
I don't know that I'd sand it all down now, but if you ever do repaint it, spread the paint scrapes with more intent. By that I mean that the damage should be naturally heavier in some places than others--the outside of all the plates, for instance.
You've got some lucky kids
-
Anything new ? :P
-
@ Apollo - thanks for the compliment. I ended up just repainting the collar piece. That line being off just bugged me.
@ Rokeim - Not a whole lot of progress...my gen 1 shoulders are in the paint process, back plate is in the prep phase for Fiberglass and Shin and thigh plates will go into paint this weekend. I keep getting distracted by the Juggernaut helm, gaunts and side arm. I have a hard time of focusing on one task lol. I should have some good progress by this weekend. plus hopefully i'll have my Cod some time this week
-
So Alot of progress went on in the last few weeks and everything came together nicely
