Here are a few pictures of the arena jetpack that I'm building out of pepakura. I'm pretty good with the stuff as Ive done 2 Gears of War helmets and my Mando gauntlets from pepakura but this will definitely be the most challenging build Ive done yet. Mostly because the jetpack will have to be hardened in sections.

Good luck, vod.

Have fiberglass resin'd some of the outside. Also reinforced the inside back section with foam core and fiberglass resin'd over it. Going to try to finish the resin inside and out today so I can Rondo inside the large piece this week and then start adding the smaller pieces.
Will post pictures later.

Where did you get the Pep file for the Jetpack?
Oh and I want to appropriate your R2 unit as well :P
Have a good one,
Hagen

This is where I found the version i'm using for the pep file. There is also another version in the tutorial section on here but I prefer the one that Fierfek made.
Also thanks even though its just the large cooler R2D2 :)

I could use an extra place to store frosty beverages :P
One last question on the Pep file, was it designed for 8x11 or A4?
Have a good one,
Hagen

I think it was A4 and then i used pepakura designer to change the size to letter. You can download pepakura designer free and then when you change the size to letter and then just move the files around to fit the pages correctly. You just have to print it then because you cant save your changes with the free version.

Have to restart this project. Tried to harden it in seperate pieces and failed. Gonna havento put the whole pep file together and then harden.

Wish you lived closer to Orlando, vod! Want one of these myself and have never worked with Pep or resin.
Keep posting about this!

Are you planning to go to the armor party at David's in November? If so I could teach you some basics there.

Keeping my eye on this, looking good so far.

Looking good mate. When I built my the Arena jetpack for my Jango, I used a combination of WOF templates for the body, and this pep file for the rest. What I did to prevent warping was to make the body out of 1mm card. I printed the templates onto normal paper then traced them onto the card. Because the thicker card has a lot more structural integrity than cardstock that you can print onto when fiberglassed it didn't warp at all.
Anyway I look forward to seeing more progress :D

Progress!

So it's all pepped, Fiberglassed & Rondo'd. All that's left is sanding and paint. I love it so far.
-
Looks great! I may also try pep for some gauntlets. I'll be watching!
-
Looks good. How's it doing for weight?
-
Weight is good. Not to light, not to heavy.
-
Looking Good Vod ;D keep it up ;)
-
So its not completed but I had done to much work not paint it up and wear it to the Christmas parade event I was in last weekend. It's still very rough so I'm gonna sand back down and keep doing some more bondo/rondo work on it to get it 100% smooth. The size is great but i have to admit that my shoulders were killing me after the troop I did with it. Have to get a better support system for it.

What kind of harness rig were you using?
-
a strap configuration that we made the night before. Not optimal. I"m probably going to bu the Man of War jetpack harness.

Wow great job !!
-
Wanted to post a little update. Sanded it all down, added sintra in some spots instead of insane amount of Bondo and sainding, then repainted & weathered it.

Thats pretty slick 8)
Two questions: 1) is it light enough that you dont have to have a harness? 2) where did you get the pep files? :)
-
That looks FRICKEN AWESOME!!!! and yes where did you get the pep files??
-
the pep files are probably from skips pepakura
2) where did you get the pep files? :)

I used the files from Fierfek on the RPF. Found them to work better than skips.
-
That is an awesome job :D
Kudos on such a great pep build :D
-
Nice job, I think I was the one that unfolded that pep file, looks good, I might build that pack too ;D
-
Very 8) ;) .

Thanks Remo!
