Title: Eman's Armor WIP (OM, now onto force hunter)
Post by: Eman'nelo on Mar 21, 2013, 01:08 AM
I'm getting pretty close to paint, this is a sintra kit I've been working on for a little while.  I know the legs are baggy but when I make my holsters it should take care of that problem.  The gauntlets should be here by the end of the week, courtesy of StarLord.  The sash and cape I'll get once I know exactly what colors they will be.  Eventually I'll have a Stalker helmet (pre-ordered already, thanks NME!) and I'll be on the look out for an arena style jetpack.  What do ya think so far? How's the plate placement?

That's looking nice man! My one suggestion is that you add boot armour since you've got Jango coverage leg plates.

All the plates are sitting right though, which is what typically catches people out so well done.

;D Thanks guys I appreciate it! I do have boot armor that I was tenative about putting on, but you're right Tracyn it'll fill out the legs nicely.  I'll start painting it once I get/paint my helmet, that way I can get a good feel about a design.  Until then I have plenty of other little things to finish, i.e. the gauntlets I received today :D

You could always use mando maker to work out the colour scheme prior to getting the helmet :)

Paint design scheme is always the part that takes the longest for me.

So I shaped the boot armor and this is what I came up with, it's a little loose because it's just duct-taped right now but once it's painted it's getting a healthy coat of epoxy.
Sorry for the angle it's the best I could get while wearing it.  As I'm posting this though I'm not sure I'm a fan of the buckle and strap that randomly cut across the boot, those might have to go.

As for paint I think I'm leaning more towards white plates with scarabeus and silver/chrome highlights.  I used the scarabeus paint on this pilot helmet and loved how it came out.
I think on white plate however it will really bring out the color change.  The design however is a different story.  I feel kind of lost without the helmet yet, I feel like the armor design should flow from the helmet, so I'll just start throwing some base coats at the armor for weathering. What do ya think??

Thanks guys! Sorry for slacking on the updating.  I just got done painting all the plates with the base white after several coats of silver and black for weathering purposes.  I'm currently working on a design for the paint.  Don't want to accidentally copy someone so I'm taking my time.  I have been working very hard on adding more LEDs to my gauntlets, I'll post pictures soon once I have them completely assembled, but for now all I'm saying is that I'm putting a battery pack in my vest to power the right one  ;)

Ok since I didn't want to double post I'm just modifying this one  :)  I started sanding my boot armor and before I go all gung-ho on all the plates I need some feedback.  How's this looking so far?   I'm used to weathering things with my airbrush, this is really my first time weathering armor this way.  I really like the effect it's having but I wasn't too sure how it looked from an outside perspective  :D

Ahoy vods.  Been pretty busy lately but I've made some progress.  Now I wanted to give an update with some great electronics and gauntlets that were near complete, but I got too ambitious and tried to fix something that technically didn't need fixing.  In turn I ruined what I had and am now back to square one.  So feeling a little discouraged I decided to take out some aggression by weathering  :D So this is what I have so far...

Butt plate and boot armor are pretty much at 100%
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1014_zpse09cf92f.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1014_zpse09cf92f.jpg.html)

I also made a holster out of some spare vinyl I had from when I made my flak jacket
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1017_zpsdc7f02e3.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1017_zpsdc7f02e3.jpg.html)

Now the gauntlets, weathering is pretty much at 100%, electronics on the other hand is a different story. Lesson : IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT!  ;D
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1016_zps49c17b88.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1016_zps49c17b88.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1015_zpsed1a5bb8.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1015_zpsed1a5bb8.jpg.html)

The flamethrower gaunt is all wired up and ready to go, you can check out the wiring in my other thread.  Once I have the right gaunt back to where I want it I'll be posting some pictures of that.  Although I'm still looking for a good source for rockets, looking for about 4...
I also drew out a design for my armor but need the helmet to make sure my lines are perfect.  Slowly but surely I'll get to OM status...  :D

Thanks guys  :D  So a quick update before I head to work.  The holster for my blaster got modified yet again.  It wasn't sitting properly and was way too tight (actually started to chip paint) so this is what I came up with.  I put wires in the ends to keep it's shape, and I'll add a thigh strap eventually.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1021_zps5c7eb1cb.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1021_zps5c7eb1cb.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1020_zps548a1b5b.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1020_zps548a1b5b.jpg.html)

I've also started to paint the thighs, knees, shins, and cod.  This is a cool pic I took to show you the color spectrum of this paint.  I must say that it looks much better on a white surface than a black like my pilot helmet.  I LOVE how it changes..
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/WP_000185_zpscab1da12.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/WP_000185_zpscab1da12.jpg.html)

I'll update more when I do some weathering tonight  :)

Thanks vod! Grats on the OM status today too!

that thigh ;D love it
A little thigh always gets attention  Here's a diferent pic not using my cell phone camera, despite the glare you can see the blue turn to purple
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1022_zps95a33e75.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1022_zps95a33e75.jpg.html)

Knee's and shins in this pic.  Shins are ready to be weathered and greebled, then attached to the boots.  I weathered the knees tonight, just need a touch up and some clear coat then they'll be good for now.  They'll be replaced eventually...

Shins look good nice shape!

What is wrong with those knees? Just add a lower piece to create a curve and build up the sides for darts launchers and whamo!

Yes I'm still here and plugging away  ;D  This is what I've done since I last posted.

Weathered thighs and cod, now just have to add greebs to the cod and attach it to the butt plate.  As I'm posting this though Im realizing I might  have to weather the top of the cod a bit more.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1042_zpsaa4f9238.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1042_zpsaa4f9238.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1041_zpsac4a5963.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1041_zpsac4a5963.jpg.html)

Boots are 90% done, just have to scrape up the leather a bit and add some greebs to the shins.  I also made some heal plates as well.  Now when I say add greebs to the shins and cod I'm going to add the heads of allen bolts to give it the effect that those silver plates are bolted on.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1039_zpsd628a9dd.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1039_zpsd628a9dd.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1038_zps260a8933.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1038_zps260a8933.jpg.html)

Also made a thigh bandolier, I started painting the cylinders but didn't take a pic yet.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1033_zpsbd3c51af.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1033_zpsbd3c51af.jpg.html)

You're probably wondering what that skulls doing up there, that's my next little 'project'.  It's going to be a lighted symbol to cover my belt buckle  ;D
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1030_zpsb57a76d9.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1030_zpsb57a76d9.jpg.html)

Both symbol and housing are made from sintra.  The idea is to float the symbol in the housing about 1 cm from the back, throw a couple blue leds behind it to give it a nice glowing effect.

Shins look good nice shape!

What is wrong with those knees? Just add a lower piece to create a curve and build up the sides for darts launchers and whamo!
Thanks vod! You're right, they're not as bad as I first thought, found some good images and got some ideas  :)

Well that's it for now, let me know what you guys think, good or bad!

Oops I almost forgot, I got my bucket today too! This is just a rough trim..

Thanks guys  :D  I appreciate the kind words and feedback. Can you tell I didnt use masking fluid or toothpaste for the weathering?  Good ol' fashion 400 grit sand paper works just as well for me  buuuut now that I have the helmet Im pretty close to finalizing my chest pattern. I'll get pics up a little later.

That's why the weathering looks good, you did it properly not carefully :P

Masking is great for canon builds but I feel it's best to be a whole bunch more random with customs, like you've done.

Thanks guys! I totally understand where you're coming from Point, don't get me wrong I like the masking idea, I just like the result of a little elbow grease  :)

I love the belt buckle idea - what kind of belt are you attaching it on?

I'm using this belt.  I'll probably mount the housing to the female end of the buckle.  I don't think that buckle plain would pass the CRL's nor do I really like the look of it anyway, hence the mythosaur skull  8)

Ok this is what I've drawn out for a chest pattern, wanted it to sort of mirror the helmet, once I get some paint on everything it'll look better, I swear  the glare is terrible but the nose/cheek lines on the helmet are also on the chest

Love love love love the paint scheme!! (what paint is that again?)

I like the simple pattern, I think the fact it crosses over your plates will make it much more cohesive. Definitely approve.

Also..what helmet is that, like it and I have been doing research for my second kit already.

Thanks vod  :) Always feels great getting good feedback from vets, especially app team members!

-Mini update- Painted my chest plates tonight, also threw a couple coats of silver and black on the helmet, the silver started to do some funky things so I'm going to let the paint completely dry for about a week before I continue.  Also I cut/made all the greebs for my boots, cod, etc. I'll post pics tomorrow afternoon  :D

:o Ahh double post, oh well...so yeah I know I said "this afternoon" a while ago but this is what I have been up to...

I finished painting my chest plates and back plate, all weathered and black washed, the back just needs a couple coats of clear. I apologize for the terrible glare in advance,  the scratches on the blue-green don't really appear in the pictures but everything is a lot darker and dirtier in person.  Tried to get a couple good pictures of the color change  :D

I might add some more color around the saber damage to give it the 'burnt' look.  Getting a head start on my Force Hunter  ;)

Added some more color to the helmet as well.

Not picture worthy : Added a strap to my bandolier attaching it to my belt, also shaped the knees a bit more

I'm getting pretty close to taking a couple full kit 'rough draft' pictures but I'd like to finish painting the helmet first. Comments and critiques are appreciated!

Thanks vod  :)  I'm really pleased with how the white really brought the colors out in the paint, it doesn't seem to have the same effect with black.

ok quick update, my friend came over with some extra hair extensions. You know what that means?? Jedi and Sith trophies!!  Attached them to the Westar for now..

That little doo-dad on the ear cap is a quick mock up of my own vizsla style cap.  I'm going to put a couple LEDs in the barrels and it'll rotate and whatnot, just haven't found a clever place to put the trigger yet :-\

Then after finding a mis-delivered package (thanks USPS!) I was able to trim up the visor I eventually received via t-visor.com.  It's just taped in place for now.

That's about it.  I'm weathering the helmet tonight and will post some pics soon.  Have a very short list of things to fix then I'll be posting some pics with whole kit on finally!

Ok so first off I apologize for the dark pics, everytime I got near the light you couldn't see the wreathing because of the glare, believe me it's a lot darker in person.  I believe when I clear coat the white with some flat clear it will take care of most of that glare.  I'm also not a huge fan of the spot on the mandible.  I might add some black and white to it to tone down the silver.  Don't think I'll add too many more dings or gashes because it kind of takes away from the color change, plus Eman avoids hits to the face .. 8) ...any thoughts??

It looks better, now it's weathered and dirty but still missing a worn look, have you tried some dry brushing on the edges, I think that is all that is missing.

Post by: Eman'nelo on May 27, 2013, 08:41 PM
Thanks tact  :) I did notice that too, especially on the bare metal, I'll give it a good dry brush before the clear hits it, I lightly sanded some spots on the color change to give it a dull look in some areas, but it translates terribly through photos

This is looking absolutely amazing.  I have to ask - what helmet did you order for that?  I can see you've added a lot of very impressive pieces to it, but the basic shape of it is exactly what I'm looking for, I think...

Thanks vod  :) it's a nme medium stalker helmet...however the only things I modified were the ear caps, shortened the RF stalk by a half inch on one, and added some blasters on the other..

ok I swear I'm still at this despite my lack of updates  :-X   I've made a bit of progress; fashioned myself a girth belt, reshaped the shoulder plates, practically done painting the bucket (I say practically because I'm always tweaking something  )  I have tons of pics so beware!

girth belt:
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1126_zps9a08b89f.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1126_zps9a08b89f.jpg.html)

new shoulder shape:

Bucket:
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1100_zpsa97405a8.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1100_zpsa97405a8.jpg.html)

The blasters in the helmet aren't fully functional yet because I'm undecided as to where I want to put the trigger and what size battery pack I want to put in the helmet.

Ok well here are some pics I'm kind of excited to have finally have taken, my first full kit test fit/shoot  ;D...keep in mind, it was late at night and the flash was on  :-[
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1117_zps16f838d4.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1117_zps16f838d4.jpg.html)(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1120_zps9870eb28.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1120_zps9870eb28.jpg.html)(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1119_zps5cfe59e7.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1119_zps5cfe59e7.jpg.html)(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1118_zps5e4dfec1.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1118_zps5e4dfec1.jpg.html)

Action pics!!

Things that are on my fix-it list:  tailor my flightsuit a bit more to avoid thigh plate saggage, attach butt and cod plates to girthbelt, cut/adjust hoses (being so rigid they pull my vest back), lower belt placement in the back, paint shoulders, attach chest plate teeth to the vest, make boba cape (same material as girthbelt)

Those are just the start of the improvements, I'm always spotting something I want to change  :P
Well what do you think, do I get a yay or a nay??

I cannot wait to have you in Firaxan. You sir, are kicking some serious shebs.

The ONLY thing I'm seeing as an issue for your approval is the hoses pushing out the jetpack.

This is a really solid kit! Awesome job! You should be really proud of what you've made.

Just a couple things before you submit:
1. Yes you'll need to have your neck covered for those side shots
2. Your chestplates extend too far out from your collar. Here's what it should look like:
3. I can't really tell 100% from the photos, but it looks like your diamond is a little wide so that it's crowding your chestplates.
4. Your thighs are uneven. Just make sure everything is perfect for the app pics!

And you asked for suggestions so I'll give you one of those lists too  :) This isn't for CRL purposes, just general aesthetics
-I think this kit would look great with a jetpack. I know some people hate jetpacks so it's up to you, but even like a Commander Cody style jetpack or something low profile would look awesome. And it would give those hoses somewhere to go.
- Your knees are very 1 dimensional. That extra curve on the bottom and some build up on the sides gives it that little extra kick of authenticity.

Ref touched on pretty much everything I can think of. The only other suggestion I have is that the back plate sticks out a bit more at the top on right side than the left, which is probably because of the hoses.

You've done a great job with this kit though, and should be stoked with how it's turning out :)

Thanks guys for the great feedback and compliments   :)
So first thing, yes I will be making a neck seal (or possibly just buying one) and maybe adding a helmet seal to cover my ginger chin  ;D ... Chest plates and diamond will be trimmed thanks for the heads up  ;) ... as for the thigh plates I'll take in my suit a bit more in hopes that it doesn't sag as much, I might have to come up with some soft of strap system  :-\  ... the hoses I'll trim and try and attach them to the flight suit instead of the vest and see if that solves the backplate problem ... I'm in totally agreement about the jetpack! If Hondo wasn't having a sale I'd have one, instead of 2 helmets  ... and lastly the knees are on the way out, I've always been a fan of the vac-form knee anyway  8)

Thanks you all so much again! anymore feedback is definitely appreciated!

Hmmmm I'm Liking this very much  you have a great looking kit and with the few tweaks it will be AWESOME ;D
Thanks niabi!!

So updates may be slow but progress isn't!  First things first, I trimmed down my chest plates a bit and I think they look much better.  I still may need to take another half a centimeter off but I'm going to get the kit on before I make that decision.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1129_zpscfc1a10c.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1129_zpscfc1a10c.jpg.html)

So the next thing I created was a half cape  8)  Still need to finish weathering it and I may shorten it up a bit, but like I said before I'll wait until I get everything on first.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1133_zps35c06eac.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1133_zps35c06eac.jpg.html)

I also weathered (minus airbrush and dry brush) and cut a couple greebs for my shoulders...
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1135_zps257664d7.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1135_zps257664d7.jpg.html)

The firaxan one isn't attached just yet, it will become I become an OM... ;D

Last and certainly not least is my bicep armor.  I wasn't going to create this right away, but having issues with my hoses ultimately lead to this design.  The hose from the top of the gaunt will be attached to the armor itself where as the hose coming from the side will be able to free float and extend with movement.  That should (I hope) take care of my hose issue.

Not picture worthy: attached cod and butt plate to girthbelt, also just ordered some fett knees from RKD  8)
ok well that's all I have so far, I'm hoping to take some more full kit pictures in the next couple days...comments and critiques appreciated!!

Yes sir this is a great update, the new trimmed chest pieces look much better, I think the cape will be good at the length you have it at.
Awesome kit Vod !! Great work !!
This keeps getting better  8)
Thanks vode!  I appreciate it!  ;D

Loving that bicep armor. 8)
Thanks seugtai! I think I may have hit more than one bird with that stone...1: Fixes hose problem, 2: Fills out empty arms, 3: Takes care of a Force Hunter requirement... 8)

After a forced hiatus, I'm back! Well I shouldn't say 'back', Ive been lurking and snatching stuff off the trading station the whole time  ;D  Now that I have a free minute to sit down and post, I'd like to show you where I stand as of today.
First of all I'm going to warn you this is a photo dump, I gots lots to show you! These are my new knees...muuuuuuch better than my old ones  8)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1223_zps4897b35e.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1223_zps4897b35e.jpg.html)

I also acquired a jetpack thanks to my clan ver'alor Mr. Avery  :D  The most Ive done to it so far is fill some seams, added the black tubing coming from the thrusters, and attached some 2" acorn fence post caps to complete the 3 cones.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1220_zps446af9cc.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1220_zps446af9cc.jpg.html)

So I went on a little photo shoot hoping to get some app pics and some other great shots.  The shoot was fun considering it was the first time I was completely suited up for almost 2 hours.  I definitely got a feel for kit and worked out some minor kinks, although the next thing I need to go is try and create some ways to keep cool!  Anyway, after uploading the pics onto my computer I noticed that almost all of my app pics were blurry and they all had little armor flaws I didn't like :-X  So I'll just show you what I have anyway until I'm able to take more, let me know what you think!  Especially you members of the app team  ;) Again, I know the girth belt and belt are off center and one thigh is slightly higher than the other, alterations are in the works  :)

Now the fun ones... 8) ... I don't have a blaster rifle built for this kit yet so I just grabbed the dc-15 I built a couple years ago...

Those new knees look good. The extra depth they have compared to your old ones looks much better. That jetpack seems to be doing the rounds as well. I look forward to seeing the paint job you do on it.

I'm Back!...Well, I never really left, just didn't have a lot of time to upload pics and report in  :-X ... Anyway, on September 4th I became an official mandalorian merc  8) ....so what do I do now? UPGRADE!... Sometimes I think the best things about a kit can be the smallest detail, so that's what I've been working on, fine tuning if you will.

Little mando'a on the helmet, my name and merc number
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1242_zps16de8fe6.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1242_zps16de8fe6.jpg.html)

This isn't really an upgrade, I did it a while ago just never posted it.  Gotta have a screen on the rangefinder.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1245_zpsc3ee8be4.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1245_zpsc3ee8be4.jpg.html)

While doing a photoshoot I noticed I had mando wings, especially while running...
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/IMG_0287_zps2912dee4.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/IMG_0287_zps2912dee4.jpg.html)

Good news was that the kit held solid at a pretty steady jog, bad news was the wings.  So I ripped them off, sewed some new shoulders, and voila! No more wings.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1239_zps2ddce781.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1239_zps2ddce781.jpg.html)

You'll also notice my Jedi Wookie braid.  Equipped with tooth and saber crystal from said wookie, zabrak horn and saber crystal, and 2 padawan braids.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1241_zps016444ad.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1241_zps016444ad.jpg.html)

I also added some greebs to my dets on my legs...now they look less like a piece of pvc strapped to me for no reason...
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1233_zps751e53a9.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1233_zps751e53a9.jpg.html)

Last but not least, I decided 2 days before a con that I needed a new holster for my westar.  Having abandoned the whole scratch built idea (because mine looked terrible) I bought one of these.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1232_zpsc380efa5.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1232_zpsc380efa5.jpg.html)

And turned it into this..
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1235_zps4e7e26ae.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1235_zps4e7e26ae.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1236_zps13afc9fe.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1236_zps13afc9fe.jpg.html)

Because of my lack of time I had to weather it using toothpaste.  Normally I wouldn't do this but I figured it was the only way.  Personally I'm not a fan of how it came out, but now that the cons over I can weather it properly.

Sooooo whatcha think??  ;D

I love this kit.

I got to see it in person, and believe me, it's wayyyy better in person.  ;)

Seriously though, I loved talking to you yesterday, and I also love this kit. My ONLY critique is you gotta find something for that back plate...

awesooooome upgrades vod ;)
Thank you sir! and time for some more  ;D
First I touched up the holster and got rid of the excessive weathering, now it looks less like a dalmation  :-X
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1255_zpsbd8dfb77.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1255_zpsbd8dfb77.jpg.html)

Next is the jetpack.  I think I have the front as good as I'm able to get it.  There are still a few imperfections but I'm hoping to lose them within the weathering.  Here it is with a couple coats of a light primer (all I had at the time)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1248_zps372b94ea.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1248_zps372b94ea.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1258_zpse930ded2.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1258_zpse930ded2.jpg.html)

The only thing I'm missing is the bottom vent.  I started working on something similar to what's really on the jetpack.  The blue lines will be cut out and I'll come up with something for the sides.
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1261_zpsef83ada7.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1261_zpsef83ada7.jpg.html)
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1262_zps06e347bd.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1262_zps06e347bd.jpg.html)

Ok now comes the part I'm kind of stumped on. Let me show you what I'm working with...
(http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q677/Emannelo/100_1259_zpsda03f7d6.jpg) (http://s1353.photobucket.com/user/Emannelo/media/100_1259_zpsda03f7d6.jpg.html)

I know, it's not pretty   My problem is attachment.  A boba style harness was suggested and I liked the idea, but I'm not a fan of adding the extra layer of clothing.  I'm actually working on installing vents in my flight suit, but that's another story for another day  ;)  So anyway, I was thinking of permantly attaching the pack to my backplate then running 'backpack like' straps under the vest so hold both the plate and pack securely to my back.  It's a very light pack, I'd say about 2-3 pounds at most so weight shouldn't really be an issue.  Anybody have any other attachment suggestions??

Apologies, it's the back side of the jet pack..i need to add some sort of support structure for the straps to attach to then cover the opening with sintra

Update! I finished my jetpack just before the con this past weekend.  It worked out very well and to be honest I forgot it was there a couple times   It's pretty light so I screwed it to my backplate.  I have straps that are attached to aluminum rods within the pack, those straps then run through the plate and vest.  I cut out slots in the backplate so I can wear the pack like a backpack, it's not going anywhere that's for sure  unfortunately I didn't take any pictures during the process, but here it is finished...

I just trolled the Jebus out of this WIP, an the detail and the effort you put in to make this is truly legit.  Great job with the weathering and your choice of paint is really different lol pearlescent paint really makes not only your whole kit pop but it makes the white pop just as much.  All in all great job!!  Makes me really wanna start with figuring out my kit's layout ;D
