Post by: Juno Karr on May 04, 2015, 08:27 PM
Su cuy!
I started work on a classic Z-6 jetpack. It´s made out of PVC and 3D printed parts.

Missile and thrusters are 3D printed.

Starting with jetpack body.I´ve used WOF templetes, works really fine :)

Aw, thanks! Always forgot about this section
And I have additional questions for you.

1. What kind of PVC did you used? 3mm thick?
2. What is the diameter of the tubes you used for build?

Please tell me you didn't  make the entire jetpack in 1 day and your just posting the pictures now. It took me weeks to make mine. Fantastic work!

What colors are you painting it? Any thoughts on the harness?

1.Yep,3mm thick
2.The tube where missile is mounted: 110mm
The tubes where thrusters are mounted: 75 mm  ;)

No...xD
I spend 1 week to build the main body and 3-4 days to bondo and sanding the 3D printed parts.
The colors will be gray, red and black,to match my armor colour scheme.

The harness is like small body armor.A little vest with velcro and straps.

Very nice. That looks a lot like the seeker harness? Did you buy one off him from the dented helmet or did you make it? if so, do you have a pattern?

Very nice. Have you trooped in it yet? any sagging of the pack as the day goes on?

Have trooped with it for 8-10 hours without problems.Very comfortable
Exterior temperature around 89-95º F and the harness don´t add excessive heat.
I suggest this kind of harness, works very fine  :)

Sorry for the delay vode :P

This is how i done it

Upper straping system. Two little hooks of metal, made of door-hangers.Locked with bolts and nuts to the back piece

Lower straping system. Two "loops" made of PVC.Locked with bolts and nuts to the back piece

All bolts mounted before close the front pieces of jetpack and nuts locked in place with epoxy glue

Hope this helps  ;)
