Hey guys. While waiting for my armor to be made I figured I'd surf ebay for vintage "space guns" what I found that I liked was a marx "burp gun" most of em were out of my range or in good working shape so I didn't want to ruin em. but I found one that was broken internally (who cares it's not gonna be a friction spark gun anymore anyhow) that noone had bid on. I won it for $0.99 and $12.99 shipping. 8) I need advice on where I should go with it. I want to black the stock and go silver on the body with black distressing and some blaster burns. this is the first time I've done this so technique tips for the distressing would be nice.
mainly I'm curious what others would do with the insides. I would of course love to run a sound board and lights etc but how costly is that typically?

Lights are really cheap if you shop around. Pretty easy to install if you have any soldering experience. Just make sure you put the batteries somewhere you can easily replace them.

lighting isnt hard LEDs are cheap and I'm a mechanic and my specialty is electrical it's running it into a soundboard that can be tricky. if I do lighting I want sound too.

Oh my, that's beautiful. DO NOT paint it, the natural weathering on it is superb and that stock is gorgeous. If you want to add some swarsy bits an offset scope, side mag and maybe a chunky/longer vented barrel. Other than that, leave it alone I'm so envious.

I guess i never really thought of leaving it as is. The weathering is pretty good. A side mag and offset scope could actually finish it off well. Thanks. If I do that I may just fix the internals for -censored- and giggles. Maybe athletic grip tape the grip and didty that up some. Vintage space guns are awesome for this stuff the 60s and 70s were full of this kind of stuff.

Well it got here and is a bit smaller that I expected (made for kids...shoulda known). I got the trigger out of the inside. the pins that located t had snapped off. some kid got overzealous with the trigger but it's nothing a drill bit and a roll pin cant fix. If I can figure out how to recreate the flint holder It'll likely spark again. ;D
I'll have to adapt a n extended stock so it doesn't feel so puny. I have a line on a magwell & clip casting for the side and an offset scope should be simple to pull off since the battery compartment gives me access.

Ok small update. I wanted a more stwarsy barrel so I picked up a pvc slide coupler made for repairing sprinkler line

tomorrow I'm buying a magwell and clip casting from an E11 for the side. all I have to do is mount and paint that, then make the stock extension and I'll be done. I'm disguising it as a leather stock cover to make up for the short stock.
