Silas & Amaza Darkstar WIP
« on: Apr 02, 2017, 05:49 AM »
Hi, I'm currently building a couple of kits, I have a WIP thread over on the Vok'Chi board but thought I'd also post here so as to tap into the wider knowledge base.

Progress so far is shown below.  The buckets are both cast in PU, and given we have two kids to keep an eye on while trooping (and the fact Lesley "Amaza" is a bit claustrophobic) we've gone with Legacy cuts for the visors. Both will be getting dark green visors fitted.

And (on a better quality shot) here's them both:

So my next move will be scarring the paint with some sandpaper, and then hit them both with some dirt.  I'm planning on using some ash and coal dust from our fire for that, rather than thinned black paint.

Update, and Admin please forgive the double post!

I've let the paint cure, then hit it with some fine sandpaper before washing them in a mix of coal dust and mud.

After that I fitted the dark green visors

Posts are a day apart so you're good Vod. Helmets are looking nice.
