I haven't used wicked, but I think they're water based, I'll have to look after work, I've used createx which is who makes wicked and Ve thinned and cleaned with water, I've heard people use window cleaner......but heard someone say too much can possibly cause paint to crack. This may be an issue if you're after a smooth finish, It may not if you're after a high weathered look
I'd say experiment, practice few tricks, trigger control, learn how to clean, pull apart and reassemble......gently
Paint thinner as in turps is ok for enamels, acrylics I wouldn't really do that.....more water, or try window cleaner
Remember to wear a paint mask and well ventilated area
That or createx has a thinner for wicked paints that you can use.

Hey Alex!
You have no idea how much I envy you about the stalker. Glad to see you back to work on another kit!
I have no experience whatsoever with airbrushes, so i am of absolutely useless with that.

THere is one thing I've noticed that's missing in this thread.

Pics.

C'mon, get some work done so we can have a look at your new bucket!  :P

Haha yes sir!! I'll try to get some up later tonight or tomorrow, I've begun the dreaded process of sanding the old paint off and just got the air brushed figured out.. (To an extent) so I've got assassin, and I'll ask when I put pics up, but do you guys have any ideas for new and unused or a mixture of custom ideas I can do to it? I mean anything and everything throw it at me! Specifically looking to change up the front and want to do trauma plates so maybe some time of trauma playing on the dome or something?

Thanks guys!

Are you wanting to mod the helmet? Add dents, cracks.....physical damage?
Change design abit?
Or just change things abit with paint?
Is your character an assassin, or just assassin styled helmet?
What things do you like? Do you like respirators, rebreathers? Range finders, torches, mini fletchette launchers hidden in ear caps, antennae like vizsla, custom visor colour, custom visor shape, backlit visor or lit like Ric commando..... Years ago someone offered a bucket with huge mythosaur skull on it, could you do that to your assassin.
Add teeth to it , either real or painted like ww2 planes......even a tasteful pin up on it somehow. Addition of tubes or pipes
Just a few off top of the unbalanced head

Or a lot of rust

Hey y'all! Sorry it's been so long, haven't had much free time at all between high school, work, and repairs on my truck. But I've finally found time to work on my bucket; however, photobucket does not want to co-operate with me this evening so hopefully I can upload pics in the morning. But I drew up some concepts and ran it by my local Ruus'alor and some others and finally began building. This whole idea to this helmet and even the kit as a whole is to simply be different. I'm doing custom trauma plates, a forest paint job, hoping to join the forestry environmental specialists brigade after approval so this kit will be headed in that direction. As for the helmet I've always been a fan of the punisher concept behind LoneWolf Customs executioner helmet and I realized nobody had done that with an Assassin, so my goal is to be the first and possibly only one so it stands out. I drew up several different concepts and made a few prototypes, finally settled on one and have decided to roll with it. I have glued it in, currently filling in. The gaps with Spackle putty as it is very easy to manipulate, once that's finished I will begin painting. I was curious what everyone's thoughts on trauma plating a helmet is, how would I do it, what would it look like?

Thanks!

Edit::::

Pictures!!

I wasn't a fan of the nose, if I need it to clear the 2/3 I can add it but I think I should be good. After recutting like 3 times I finally got one I liked, sadly it's a bit uneven so it looks crooked but I think I can incorporate that into weathering.

Clearly it's gained some 3-D damage on its own, once I finish smoothing it out at the T I will get filler primer to try and clean it up while I decide what I want to do for damage and begin painting and move onto my armor!

Got some Filler primer and got a few layers on, need some more to fill in some of the dents, then sand, make the rest and soem more 3-d weathering, then a ton of silver and begin paint!

Also finally got a voice amp for 40$ on Amazon and it works great!!!

The uneven-ness and the wear/tear on the faceplate that you were worried about; to me it looks like a competely personal modification that you did to a standard helmet without being a seasoned beskar-smith. It adds to the personalization of the bucket. When others mod their buckets to make them look like a factory produced piece all it loses that personalization.

Hey sorry for the late reply this is my color scheme (for now)

Hoping to color up a regular helmet picture this week during some slow/free class time. I decided to keep my helmet scheme as a kind of momento to the origins as it's been on my last 2 buckets, but with updated colors for the new kit under environmental specialist and mechanic brigades.

That is sick!  And good deal on that voice amp.  ;)

Thanks! Yeah the voice amp worked great at Rogue one!

I LOVE this take on it!!! Absolutely perfect and EXACTLY where I'm going with this kit! That's how I want this kit to be, it's a story/reflection of me. So thank you!

ATTENTION PLEASE!!!!
I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything, and I know I used the executioner bucket for inspiration but this specific design I made for the sole purpose of being unique and standing out and I would really appreciate it if it was left that way to be mine. If you truly love it, message me and we can have a good conversation.:D thank you all

Looks great so far! Maybe if you didn't like the nose you had before you could try something like this?

Of course that's only if you don't meet the 2/3 rule. This type of cut could also help with visibility, but it looks like you have a really could layout for that anyway. Good luck!

That's is a very interesting take on it, I will consider and hopefully get an officer to way in on the 2/3 rule before I do anything. My biggest concern is whether or not it would be strong enough. I am certainly you intrigued and will think about it. Thank you!

Can I get an officer to weigh in on whether this would be acceptable or not? Thank you in advance!
