Red's verpine shatter rifle build

After watching Raygne's post for a hundredth time, I've finally decided to make myself a verpine rifle.

Here's what I got so far:


Main design


First I had the main body machine cut and after a bit of work, mainly with trigger mechanism, it looks like that :)


Trigger taken from some cheap Chinese M1911 knockoff. It has a spring inside, so it moves back and forth. As you can see I milled too far and had to use a bit of pcv to make the trigger stay in desired position.


I wasn't sure how thick it's supposed to be so I've decided to go with 2x ca. 19mm (3/4") blocks. At first it felt pretty thick but it was way better after I rounded  the grip up.

My main body was made from a 1"x6" of oak, so a 3/4" thickness sounds about right. Looking forward to seeing this get built, LOVE me some Verpine rifles!

New favourite tool - Dremel Trio / Model 6800

And most importantly - today I got rest of the parts so it was time for first test fitting:


That's all for now - I lent my other Dremel tool to my brother so I can't do much without it at the moment

That is looking killer so far! I love MDF when it comes to making guns. Cheap/easy to work with.

So... it's safe to say my Verpine is... DONE! :D

One indoor morning pic

The scope is magnetically attached - neodymium magnets work wonders.

I dig.  Finding good greeblies can be a challenge sometimes.
