Custom Legacy Armor Concept
« on: Jan 09, 2017, 09:59 AM »
Hey guys, I was making Drakes Legacy armor, but I decided I wanted to do my own armor.
My plan is to do under-the-arm chest plates like this

And also have the chest piece and collar one piece like the Storm/Clone Troopers.

And can I have armor pieces, like how the Clone troopers, enclose my limbs?
I'll do my own so they don't look exactly like clone armor pieces.
Would this all be allowed in a Legacy kit?

I recently came across Mcquarrie fett's armor and it looks near exactly what I want. I found Zekk Voss' Mcquarrie adaptation and Skeltis' ab armor.
I combined the two and thought they went great together. So here's what it looks like.

I will add another ab plate that looks more like a finisher piece once I get that piece worked out.

With how low the chest plate will need to go to properly hook under the arm you likely wont need more then 3 ab lames - when you make up templates make sure to add a cod plate and mark off at least 3-4 inches for your girth belt, that will help with letting you know where the plating needs to stop.. The only suggestion I'd make is splitting the chest and collar - even if you attach them together into one rigid piece but letting them keep the same layered look that the chest to ab has.

Thanks Kris. I'm not quite sure on how to make templates, is there an easy way to do it or do I have to draw it somehow?

http://mandalorianmercs.org/get-involved/costume-templates/ Is the template page, or you can draw your own out. Depending on your body shape you may find one type seems to be shaped more to your frame, or you may have to trim down an existing set to fit.

Alrighty, I found a blank Mandalorian and put my armor and a executioner style helmet on it.
Let me know what you think of the armor and what I should do to it.
For the helmet I really don't like the nose but I have to have the 1/3 rule for it to be approved.
So if anyone has any ideas of what to add so it can be approved I will gladly accept it.
Also, how is the vision in a executioner helmet?
