Yeah, it should work.  There are only so many ways to hold water, so even a Swarzy canteen would look like a canteen.

I thought it would work, but I just wanted to check. Also, what is the best flight suit that I can get in black or very dark grey? I would like one that doesn't restrict movement, as I want my armour to be functional, not just for show.

Lots use Red Kap brand coveralls.  If you want a two piece look, medical scrubs are popular, as well as Dickies work wear.

I have the Eternal armories death watch v2 bucket and it is REALLY heavy. It's actually heavier than a USMC issue combat helmet.

Had some progress on getting parts for my A280/A300:

(sorry for the bad pic. my room has no natural light and I had to crank up the exposure to get rid of most of the nasty shadows)

A friend gave me this broken airsoft M4, so I've gutted the gearbox (got some nice greeblies from there), and am reorganizing the parts so it looks more swarzy. Does anyone know of a kit I can buy for under or around $50 that has the extra mag, hand grip, scope, etc?

So I guess it's just me, epoxy, and sintra? Are there any templates anywhere? or should I go with my own take on a Star Wars blaster rifle?

Remember, think obscure military surplus from the first half of the 20th century.

And for what it's worth, designing something similar to an existing blaster and calling it a custom model or prototype works.  I'm designing an A280-CQB based off an AR-9, and borrowing elements from screen used blasters

Quick post with a little bit of new progress:







The paint isn't quite finished, and it has a few dents in the (3mm) Sintra, but this is just a test. How do you think it looks?

P.S. I'll start an armor WIP when I get my rifle and helmet finished and start on my chest plates.

Goody! I just gave it a coat of flat black, as I like that a bit more than the semi gloss. Once I get that attached to my glove (hopefully tonight), I'll make the other one. Then I've got to print out my armor plates and try them on for size. I'll be sure and post pics.
