Really cool paint
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:51 AM »
I just started working on an ammo bandolier.  I'll have some pics up soon.  I used some cheap travlers soap boxes for $1.00 from walmart and some Krylon plastic paint.  The cool thing is the variety gives plastic objects a "hammered" look.  When I get the pics up you'll see how the plastic box looks like a metal box/container.  I was very impressed with this little find.  I'm going to try it out on some pvc soon to test for some future armor.
Cheers,
John

I like the hammered paint.  I used pretty much ALL hammered paint on my kit.  From a distance it looks like a dull metal, but up close it really has some character, and the thinner your coat, the smaller the 'hammer marks' are, so if you vary the thickness, it looks even more "organic".

wow I started this thread a long time ago. I've had issues since w/krylon hammered paints and do not use them anymore.  I'm sure there is other hammered paints out there.  :)
