I would say something about slow and steady wins the race...but my progress has been far from steady

Gauntlets are looking good so far.

Yup, that looks like my life with the gauntlets. I may put a coat of primer on them tonight and see if I need more spot putty before this weekend

What?!? Another update in the same week?!?

Well it’s not all good news in this one, but such is the build process. So I dyed my top and now it’s too dark... so while I decide if I want to torture myself with color remover or not, I’ve turned to some friends who’ve built the costume for advice.

Looking at these for options instead. My friend has the top below; I’d just have to add the second sleeve and sleeve detail. She said she leaves her belly plate on and attached the rest each time she kits up. That may be the route I go with. Things to think about.


I’d buy two to Frankenstein the vest, to add the second sleeve and make matching gloves since the crl calls for the same material and color as the flightsuit/vest


I could, in theory leave the legs and cod pieces attached when I dekit for this option.

Anyway, just my thoughts with where I’m at in the build right now.

Yeah the more I think about it, the more I like this option, as long as the color actually matches in real life lol

i think these two will work out. this is more of that "dark charcoal grey" color that's truer to the show. cause her suit isn't quite black but it's not grey. it's got a slightly weathered look to it, which i think these colors will fit. hopefully they come in as the pictured colors

I sure hope so too because I ordered them this afternoon! Time will soon tell!

If all works out color wise, I think all I’ll have to do is add the seam down the legs (should be easy enough) and make gloves out of the 2nd shirt I bought (never made gloves, will be an experience lol)

in theory it's tracing your hand with some seam allowance added in then sewing it together then turning it right side out.

Still waiting on the second half of my “flightsuit” to arrive; top came in and it’s quite soft. Hope it matches!

Got my gauntlets primed and silvered. Might need to lightly sand it before I paint it the blue but for now, I’m happy with them. Obviously still have to add all the little do dads lol





Also my friend gifted me some amazing rubies westar 35s! They’re the perfect fit for my tiny hands lol they still need another coat and maybe a little more sanding but they’re getting there!



So that’s my mini update for now!
