Oya Vode!
Yeah, I know, not even OM yet and I'm already looking at doing another kit. This time, I'm looking to do Early Era. I love the idea of working in leather, so this seemed like a natural place to do so. I am a skilled leatherworker as it is, so the learning curve on this will not be as steep as a beginner. I'll also be able to do sculpting work as well with FreeForm Air.
I'm going for an Angler Fish sort of theme with this, because they've always looked gnarly as hell to me. I want to be able to add the bioluminescent light bulb thing, and can figure out some electronics to have the thing pulse gently (fade in and out), but I'm not sure if this would be approved or not. If anything, the jaw for the bucket would be amazing.
So I'm looking towards using (or creating) elements of bone, fur and leather to go with this kit.

Just a rough sketch of my design thus far. All the plates would have the raised ridge down the centre, and I can sculpt it with FreeForm air to make it look like natural ridging that occurs on bone.
https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m7554This would be my Flight Suit base, with some minor modifications on it.
I have a pair of combat boots (same pair I use for my regular kit, actually) so I'd be sure to create some sort of wrap to hide the laces. But if I can find a pair of boots that fit the job for this kit, I'll snag those for sure.
Colour scheme will be mostly white, off-white, bone, and natural greys.
Weapon will be some sort of spear or war pick. Stone or bone would be a good choice, but we will see what works for the kit.

Question; I took a look at the CL's for this era, but it makes no mention of thigh plates being mandatory. Just want to confirm that before I move forward, or if I need to make adjustments to my design pattern.
