Hey

Feels weird posting in a section of the boards where nothing happened in a really long while :)

Since I have a SWG armor, I would definitely be interested in checking how joining the brigade could work out for me.
So, since approval in june, my kit haven't changed much. I only added a blaster hoslter to my left side. I'm planning on lowering it a little bit to free some space at the waist.
On my left side, I got 2 vibrodaggers sheath that I plan on moving elsewhere.

Here are my observations so far about my kit versus the BRL..

Minimum SWG armor requirements:
Quote
• Helmet – Standard Jango-style Mandalorian helmet with traditional T-visor and standard rangefinder. Double pin stripes and triangles on dome. Paint on back bottom panel, below dome,  should match ‘visor’ color.
I have to add the stripes and the triangles.

Quote
• Collar armor – Segmented plates with key slots on bottom for chest plate, shaped to match SWG.
Check

Quote
• Chest armor – Singular chest plate with key slots on top for collar plates, chest LED slots indented or cut, shaped to match SWG.
Only need to adde the chest LED slots

Quote
• Gut armor – Large single key slot on bottom, shaped to match SWG.
I think I need to have it redone. So that the bottom of the plate ends closer to the girth belt.

Quote
• Cod armor – Layered, triangular cod and Boba-thong, shaped to match SWG.
• Thigh armor – Large angular plates, with visible external strapping, shaped to match SWG
• Knee armor – Triangular, two-part knee plates with visible external strapping, shaped to match SWG.
Check

Quote
• Shin/boot armor – Full length shin guards and enclosed boots. Two-part toe and boot lace armor plates, shaped to match SWG.
Shin Check
Boots, I need to add the second peice of armor to make the boots look like what was in game.

Quote
• Shoulder armor – Large, boxy, two-part shoulder plates, shaped to match SWG.
Not sure. I need insight from you guys on this one.

Quote
• Back armor – Large back plate, key slots at top and bottom, angular lower half, shaped to match SWG.
Check

Quote
• Gauntlets – Enclosed clam shell gauntlets with ramp on top, shaped to match SWG.
Not sure what we mean by "ramp".

Quote
• Soft goods – All soft goods should either be the same color or relatively the same shade to match the two-tone color choice options in SWG.
All my accesories and soft parts are black. The only thing is, my flight is dark navy...

Quote
• Gloves – Full-fingered gloves.
Check

Suggested components
Quote
• Armor weathering.
Check... Might need more though. I also need to weather all my straps to match better the rest of my kit.

Quote
• Weapon resembling one found in SWG.
Got a blaster, 2 vibrodaggers and 2 SWG frag grenades (pics to come)
Planning on crafting a DP-23 shotgun as seen in game.

Quote
• Two-tone armor/soft goods color scheme. Elaborate paint jobs or intricate detail work are discouraged (recall the in-game color pallet choices).
This one's gets me worried. My vest is black and made out of linen. But my flight suit is dark navy.
Knee plates color differs from the rest of the leg components.
I got a little bit of red and white on my shoulder plates (as some kind of hommage to the shoretrooper) and wonder if they could pass as is.

Quote
• Belts, capes, holsters, and other equipment or trophy accessories are encouraged.
Holsters, new ammo pouches, and leather suspenders are on the way.

Quote
• Plain black gloves.

Honestly, I've never had to look into this before.

It's spelled "Canon", not "Cannon".

(SHHH!!! I found the secret to getting OM approved!)

Thanks Dha Bral!

but now, with Vraeden's announcement about shutting down the SWG brigade... looks like my hopes for this brigade were short-lived!
From my point of view, the SWG brigade was pretty much like other legends brigades.

I already had a plan for all the mods needed on my kit, but I guess it's back to square 1.

Gotta say it would have been a nice opportunity to promote this not-so-mainstream armor template, just like the protectors for instance.

Thanks for your time anyways  ;)

Edit: From this day forth, Vraeden wil be known as "Lodan's dreamcrusher" lol  :P  ;)

I am going to move this thread to the "Alternative Era" subforum.  I would love to see you build a SWG kit, and the Brigades wants to have you as a member, but Galaxies armor on its own is outside of the scope of what Brigades do.

Now, if you wanted to build an Urban Assault kit based on the SWG style, then we're talking!

Thanks Dha Bral!

Vraeden, I was disappointed at first but rest assured I totally understand the reasons of shutting down the SWG brigade :)

As I already have my SWG armor (got approved with it), I'm now juggling with different ideas for picking the right brigade for me.
I understand the bridages have strict prerequisites, but I'd like to join a brigade without having to drastically modify the look and feel of the SWG template. So far, Weapons Master, Heavy Weapons or Heavy Melee have caught my eye. Maybe the Urban Assault would indeed be interesting too. I'd just like to make the most out of my 6'4''/290lbs build. :)

Oh and thanks for the reply and the heads up!
I guess that anything brigade related from now should be discussed in the proper section of the forums ;-)

Thanks again!

I did not play SWG during it's run (I do play SWTOR), but I've been looking around at some of the Mandalorian armor in the game, and there are definitely loads of possibilities to incorporate your armor into the Brigades.

Whatever profession you choose, I look forward to seeing your Brigade application soon!
